We are pleased to welcome visitors to our 3 bedroom self-catering cottage situated on the side of the Downs in the Southdown National Park overlooking Findon Village, Views and easy access to Cissbury Ring, the second largest Neolithic flint and iron age hill fort in the UK, Chanctonbury Ring, a prehistoric hill fort, and the Downs gallops of Josh Gifford Racing Stables. The space A modernised guest exclusive 3 bed semi-detached 1911 farmworkers cottage set in 7 acres of pasture land. Each of the 3 bedrooms has a small shower room with WC and washbasin. There is also a double bed/settee in the sitting room. Fully equipped kitchen, dining room, sitting room, cloakroom and laundry room. Patio and lawn. Private off road car parking for 6 vehicles shared with hosts. TV, DAB radio and 30Mbps WIFI. We also run Findon Free Range Eggs t/a Nanny Sue's Best Eggs, a small farm producing pasture raised free range hen/duck eggs and honey for resale at the farm gate, and have an onsite fresh cut flower business, Chalk Farm Flowers, run by Dan and Molly. Your hosts live next door. For a small village of only a 1000 households Findon is very well served for eating and drinking out. (Nearest 5 mins walking) to furthest (15mins) - Black Horse Pub, Findon Manor Hotel and Snooty Fox bar restaurant, The Gun Inn, Sylvan Oak Fine Dining, The Village House Inn and The Tajdar Indian Restaurant and take away, along with Peckhams the family butchers and The Findon Village Community Store and Post Office owned by a village collective, and two Hairdressers/Beauty Salons opposite the Black Horse. A mile or so south in Findon Valley is a Marks & Spencers franchise in the BP Service Station (with electric charging), Tesco Express, Fish & Chip Shop, Chinese and Indian takeaways, Dry Cleaners, Barbers, Lime Tree Surgery, and several Dentists. Our family swimming pool is available for guest use free of charge complete with changing rooms, wc, shower, fridge and kettle subject to pool use rules and a signed Waiver of Liability for all in the Guests party. However we are unable to offer exclusivity nor are we able to predict who or when other guests and family will be using the pool Other things to note Check in 4pm, check out 11am. No pets please, we have free range livestock but we are flexible when necessary. We are on the side of the Downs so garden steps make wheelchair access challenging. High chair, travel cot and stair gates available in the cottage. We provide complimentary breakfast essentials for the first morning of your stay (or a late night snack after a long day travelling!). Fresh eggs, milk, butter and bread. Bridle paths in three directions for interesting walks/biking. Sadly these days hen areas are off limits due to DEFRA bio-protection regulations to help prevent the spread of Avian Flu.
