Yetlands Cottage

Yetlands Cottage is in the delightful village of Renwick and adjoins the owners' house but has separate access. Parking is private and a few yards from the cottage door. Dogs are welcome. The cottage has 314 excellent reviews on Air BNB and has the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence. We are within a few hundred yards of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Beauty The wood burning stove is easy to work, efficient and lovely to sit in front of. We provide wood, coal and kindling. The space The porch is suitable for walking/cycling gear. The living space has a wood-burning stove, sofa, armchair, dining table and chairs, TV and DVD player. The kitchen area has an oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, crockery, pans etc. Upstairs is the bedroom with king size bed, built in wardrobe and bathroom. In the bathroom is a shower and bath. The bedroom has plenty of space for a cot and we have a new travel cot (August 2019). Upstairs the original wood window beams can be seen. We provide enough fuel for the stove free. Pets are welcome but we ask that they are not left on their own in the cottage and not allowed up on the furniture. We also ask that dogs are not allowed to foul the garden area. There is a country lane 20 yards from the cottage which many owners use for dog walking. Guests are welcome to use the garden area accessed through their patio door and we have garden chairs in the cottage porch. Guests are also welcome to sit out in the lawn area and in the orchard area (pictures). There are garden seats, great for relaxing on. In the garage we have a BBQ for guests use. This can be used in the lawn area which is accessed from your patio door. We make available fuel and lighting fuel and suggest a contribution of £3 in the honesty box. In the adjoining barn we have a cross trainer and gym bike which guests can use. We also have a table football game! The property is on the edge of the village and there is no through traffic passing by, making it very quiet and safe. Opposite us is a farm barn and field which has lambs in spring. Renwick is ideal for walking, cycling and relaxing. The cottage is close to the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Beauty. For both walking and cycling there is an excellent variety of routes immediately from the house such as Renwick Fell on the lower Pennines and the C2C is nearby. Sunset from Renwick Fell, looking across the Eden Valley to the Lakes is often stunning. We have 2 bikes that are available for guests at no cost. Dick and Kath, the owners, are keen on outdoor activities and can offer advice on routes. They also provide written guides for some local walks. The cottage has a customised OS map on the wall which shows the local area and centred on Renwick. We also provide an OS map of the area. We have a wide range of leaflets and books on walks and attractions in the area, including dog friendly walks, pubs and cafes. There is a washing machine in our part of the property which guests are welcome to use . Guest access There is no formal check in, guests can arrive at any time after 3. The cottage has its own access. The cottage and main part of the house are connected but there is a lock on the guests' side to ensure privacy and the cottage is not overlooked. Guests have sole use of the cottage living room, bathroom and bedroom. Guests have a separate grassed area but also access to the owner's garden. We have a small wild flower area with a bench/table which is lovely for sitting on an evening. Also adjoining the cottage is the barn, which is only jused now for storage (and by the swallows in summer!) We ask that guests leave by 10AM but if guests would like to get an extra walk in, they are welcome to then leave the car on the drive and enjoy the morning at Renwick Other things to note The cottage has ultra fast broadband. The cottage also has an Amazon Firestick and gives access to BBC i Player, Netflix, Amazon Prime and other streaming services. Mobile phone signal is inconsistent in the village.
