Taradale Homestead - Whero Room

Located on the plains of the Maniototo and with access to the Otago Rail Trail, our house is an historic farmstead, built in the 1880s. We have lovingly refurbished the house, retaining the character of its past while incorporating the needs of the modern age. This listing is for our spacious 'Whero Room' with private ensuite. Please check out our other listing 'Taradale Homestead - Kākāriki Room' if you need the additional room. It, too, has two beds and access nearby to a private bathroom. The space The Whero Room is furbished with two very comfortable king single beds and has a large private ensuite. You'll also enjoy cozy electric blankets, TV (freeview and Netflix channels) and expansive views of the beautiful Ida Valley from every window. Northwest facing, the room gets maximum sun. The bedroom leads on to a sun porch and outdoor area with table, chairs and sun umbrella. Guest access Guests can access the living areas and kitchen. We serve your breakfast in the kitchen/dining area. A fridge in the sunporch has bottled water and milk, along with tea- and coffee-making facilities. You can also sit out at a table in a sunny area outside the porch door. During your stay My husband, Steve, and I live in a separate part of house. We will be happy to give you tips about the area and answer any questions you may have. Nearest places for dinner (pubs) are 10 to 15 minute drive by car; we are happy to book you in at one of these if you ask us to do so in advance. We can also provide you with dinner here (main and dessert) at an extra small cost per person, but only between 6 pm and 7 pm and with advance notice. Other things to note Your hosts are servants to four delightful cats. We also have extensive knowledge of the local area and can guide you to places you might not otherwise know about.
