Artists' Home in the Heart of West Asheville

Private room with shared bath in the home of a family of artists. Four blocks from the heart of West Asheville with it's cafes, pubs, live music, and restaurants. 2 miles from downtown, 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The space Our 1923 bungalow is cozy and comfortable with many artsy touches, surrounded by lush, semi-wild gardens, chicken coop, and an orchard on our 1/2 acre. The peaceful blue guest room is furnished with one full size (double) Sealy Paulson bed, a fluffy mattress topper, 4 pillows and a down comforter. It also has a microwave, coffee maker and complimentary coffee and tea. Free wifi. Desk has hiking trail books, maps, and an info board with suggestions for restaurants, breweries, tours etc.. The house stays pretty cool in the summer, there is a window fan in the room. The shared bath has a full tub. It's in a quiet, family neighborhood, only 4 blocks walk to Ujoint, West End Bakery, Brew Pump. A couple more blocks will bring you to Sunnypoint, the Hop ice cream, 9 Mile, Jargon, Biscuit Head and more. Downtown Asheville is an 8 minute drive. Uber/Lyfte there for about $8. Bus stop at the end of the street. Guest access There is plenty of street parking. Please don't block the neighbors' driveways. Follow the white mandalas up our driveway to the side door and use the lockbox to access the key. The bedroom is to the right, through the kitchen and den. In the hallway open the right hand door. The bathroom is the center door. During your stay We welcome people of all backgrounds. If you have a question, complaint, or suggestion please communicate it as soon as possible so that it may be resolved. I work at home most of the time (in the front room), as does my husband (in the backyard studio) so we are easy to find. If I'm not home, texting is the fastest way to reach me. Our teenage son lives upstairs and is busy with college most of the time. I will give you privacy to do your own thing but when needed, I love to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for Asheville, especially the quirky side of it. Other things to note We have two cats and a dog. The friendly dog sometimes jumps on people. We will try to keep him shut in the other bedroom when you first get here, til he calms down. The cats are inside/outside and very cuddly. The animals do not go in the guest room unless you invite them. If you have pet allergies please realize that the room and home is cleaned frequently but you may have a reaction. No pets allowed. Extra guests, visitors and parties not allowed. No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property. Quiet hours: 10 pm to 8 am, inside and out. This listing is a friendly, comfortable, affordable sleeping quarters for your Asheville adventure!
