Downtown you will find within walking distance restaurants, bars including outdoor bar created from storage containers. With a great candy store of chocolate delights, and ice cream treats! You will find this whimsical, eclectic, and comfortable residence in Central FL. (Aptly named.) A short 35 minute drive North to Gainesville for, UF sports (Go Gators) and activities. Hippodrome for the plays, dance, and orchestra. For all around fun an adventure to the many natural springs for kayaking, tubing, snorkeling, and sightseeing through the nature trails. If you are the history buff or artist at heart, The Harn Museum of Art, Museum of Natural History, will dazzle your senses. If fishing is your “Happy Place”, you are 38 miles west to Cedar Key, for red fish, trout, and grouper. And speaking from experience that makes for a really fine dinner. If your inclination is a relaxing trip on the water it is easy to rent Kayaks, or canoes to take a lazy trip, with sunshine, fresh air, and beautiful scenery. Or take a day trip out to one of the many beaches on the coast. There is hardly a time on the water that we don’t see a pod of dolphins, playing, fishing, and swimming. And in the spring we like to swim with the Manatees in Homosassa Springs. When you visit central FL you really want to take a day trip to Mt Dora, a quaint little town right on Lake Dora, with a boat trip around the lake or a bit of shopping, or if you pick a weekend with the Art Fairs you are sure to come away with some kind of artsy treasure. The restaurants, bars, and ice cream shops are great and attract visitors from many directions. If Disney is your destination, you are a 1.5 hour drive SE to experience the “Kid Capital of the World” with many other fun things such as; water parks, Sea World, Universal Studios, Top Golf, and some of the best discount shopping malls. And going south, you can experience The Villages, which is the largest adult community around. Music and dancing every night from 5-9 at one of the Villages 3 squares with entertainment, food, and dancing. There are an abundance of golf courses around to get your game on.
