Description

Sit out on the second-story porch and take in the view at this modern studio that incorporates green building concepts and historic design. Inside, there's a selection of books to browse, or bring digital devices and stream a playlist. Located just north of The University of Texas, this modern studio showcases how green building can coexist with a historic landmark, the Fruth House. We are licensed by the City of Austin: License number is displayed in the binder in the apartment. The space Located just north of The University of Texas, this modern studio showcases how green building can coexist with a historic landmark, the Fruth House. Designed as a photography gallery, creative use of space achieves a spacious feeling. Completed in February 2012, it incorporates “green building” concepts: LED lights, solar panels, efficient heating/AC, and tankless water heater. A queen-sized Murphy bed, a sofa that converts to a second queen size bed, a fully-equipped kitchen, and comfy furnishings on a century-old reclaimed wood floor provide visitors with a home base to explore Austin. Centrally located, guests can catch the UT shuttle (75 yards), or walk to UT (1 mile), Central Market, and nearby restaurants along the “Drag” (Guadalupe) and in Hyde Park; we are near several hospitals (Austin Heart, Seton, St. David’s, University Medical/Brackenridge, and Dell Children’s) and the Capitol. UT scholars, visitors, sports fans, athletes (especially rowers!) and live music aficionados—all are welcome to enjoy our Gallery House Austin. Additional information about rental rates: Minimum two night stay. Check out time is normally 11 a.m. but we are flexible depending on incoming guests, so inquire if you want to stay later. Check in after 3 p.m. Inquire for different times, again we are flexible depending on bookings. Stays of longer than 30 days are not subject to Hotel Occupancy Tax! The State of Texas Hotel Occupancy Tax is 6% and the City of Austin Hotel Occupancy Tax is 11%. Both of these are collected by us under our City license, and remitted to the two agencies quarterly. City of Austin Short Term Rental Type 1 license is displayed in the informational binder in the apartment. *Austin requires a license number to be shown in all online listings for legally operating rentals. Beware of ads that do not have a license number displayed. Guest access High speed wifi from multi-gigabit fiber connection over a Google Fiber network. If your hardware can support Wifi 6E, speeds over 1 Gbps (up/down) are normal. Other things to note The apartment is super well insulated and has a high efficiency 18,000 BTU heat pump for heating and cooling. A tankless water heater supplies all the hot water you can possibly use. A small but well organized and equipped kitchen with a counter top microwave, 2 burner electric stove top, toaster oven & separate toaster, and a standard size refrigerator next to the sink. The bed is a very comfortable queen size Casper mattress (Murphy bed!) to make maximum use of the space. I have traveled a lot and tried to put everything into this space that a visitor could possibly want. The new 2021 50" Sony X90J 4K TV is connected to Netflix, Max, Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video accounts for your listening and viewing pleasure with Sonos surround sound. All the local broadcast HD TV channels are available as well. We are licensed by the City of Austin: License number is displayed in the binder in the apartment.
