Top House Twin Room - Rukgala Retreat
Indulge in restorative rejuvenation at Rukgala Retreat - our "shelter on the rock", situated in a beautiful and still pretty unknown part of Sri Lanka, 45 minutes from Kandy. A boutique hotel meets retreat space making the ideal sanctuary for yoga teachers, students and those just keen to escape and explore. The space Rukgala Retreat is a small, yoga- and wellness-focused 'hotel' on the shores of the Victoria Lake in Digana, near Kandy. We've worked hard to fashion a beautiful space from an old crumbling house and, with just 8 bedrooms, take a lot of pride in offering our guests a warm and enriching time. We are not a strict retreat-centre but have found that guests keen to practice yoga, as well as explore this beautiful part of Sri Lanka, get the most out of time at Rukgala. For that reason we only offer packages that include group yoga classes, massage, hiking and all the delicious food we serve. We hope that appeals for you and look forward to seeing you at Ruk. The Top House has four guest bedrooms (the largest of those at Ruk) and is also the main space for eating, drinking, reading and dozing with a lovely wide wooden deck that looks out over the tree canopy, a small library/reading room and a juice bar that also opens to the deck.
