Our home is located in rural Loudon, about 10 miles from the state capitol of Concord, and a 1.5 mile walk from NH Motor Speedway. Outdoor activities abound in NH, with golfing, hiking, biking, skiing, leaf-peeping, lovely drives, and antiquing. Great walks or bike rides can start right outside your door! The local public golf course (.5 mile walking distance) has great food, a lovely layout, and there are other eateries nearby as well. The town of Concord has a wonderful downtown Main Street for shopping and eating. We are also near Canterbury Shaker Village, a wonderful historic site. Kitchenette includes a small dorm fridge, microwave, hot-pot, coffee-press, and dishes. There is a small outdoor seating area, and you have access to our grill on the deck. Our neighborhood winds around next to the public golf course, hence the name Green View Drive. Our home is near, but not on, the golf course. Views, sunrises, sunsets, birds, peepers, and the occasional goose or owl cry adorn your stay. Loudon Country Club is a beautiful 18-hole championship golf course with a great 19th hole. Other food nearby: Brookside Pizza has great Italian food in a very casual and/or takeout atmosphere, the Eggshell has fabulous country breakfasts. Our small, local "Beanstalk" grocery store and gas station carries a variety of necessities, some fresh and frozen food, snacks, beer, wine, and a takeout Chicken kitchen. More restaurants can be found up and down Route 106 and in Concord. Be sure to check out Canterbury Shaker Village nearby, and taste locally crafted wines at Gilmanton Winery. The Quiet Retreat is far from the madding crowds! It's a wonderful escape from the busy city life. You'll need a car if you're visiting rural NH. We do have space for you to park on our driveway.
