Homestay Madukismo - Blue Room

Rumah Madukismo is a modern minimalist house hidden behind a 'pendopo', a Javanese structure on columns. The design was done by architect Lada Hršak (HR), in a collab with the owners: the artists Teguh Hartanto (ID) & Su Tomesen (NL). The house is located in a 'kampung', just south of the Jogjakarta ringroad. You'll have the experience of living in a Javanese village surrounded by paddy fields, at the same time the sultan palace and touristy Jalan Prawirotaman are only 15 minutes away by bike. The space In addition to the function of living, the house is also a big studio. Rumah Madukismo allows comfortable working, for example in the arts or literature. Both rooms are spacious, the Blue Room as well as the Bright Room (see separate advertisement). The bed in the Blue Room is a queensize one. You share the bathroom with the guests from the Bright Room, if there are. If needed you can use the other, smaller, bathroom opposite of the living room. Guest access We offer basic lodging in the form of a bed, a fan, a mosquito net, a fresh shower, a (shared) desk, a shared kitchen. You can use the stove and our rice cooker. Coffee and tea are always available, as well as fruits like papaya, salak, banana, and mango if in season. For making coffee you can use the percolator - or you make 'kopi toebroek' - to make juice we have a blender. During your stay Once you are here the host(s) will tell more in addition to the basic things mentioned above. We'll show you the characteristics, comfort and beauty in and around our kampung named Rogocolo, RT 09. Our house at no. 33 is an exception in the kampung because we don't have roof tiles (except on the 'pendopo'); we are known as "the house without roof tiles" / "rumah tanpa genteng". Other things to note We are sometimes in Rumah Madukismo as a family of three: Teguh, Su and Lina. Most of the time though we live in Amsterdam, NL. Our dear friend Pujo will host you in that case.
