Cute, very quiet, private studio in-law with separate bedroom space, kitchen and private bathroom with shower (no tub). 415 Sq Ft. There is one queen bed in the bedroom and a full size pull out bed in the sofa (perfect for small kids). Apartment also has a small, private back yard area - great for those with small pets. Views of Golden Gate Bridge and much of the Bay Area visible from just outside your door. Tilden Park is just a few minutes drive from the property. In Law is equipped with new amenities including a toaster oven, coffee maker, stove/oven, refrigerator and all of the kitchen equipment (pots, pans, dishes, utensils and glasses) needed for a long term stay. There is no door to the bedroom, but it is separate from the kitchen area and bathroom. It's an open area that would be good for either a couple or a couple with small kids. We welcome small pets inside the apartment. There is a "private" yard area for small pets, but it's not overly secure so leashes should be used at all times unless you're with your pet in the back yard. We do live in an area with rather abundant wildlife including deer, raccoons, opossum and skunks for you to be aware. It's about about a 10 minute drive to UC Berkeley campus or BART from the house. There is public transportation nearby to San Francisco or other areas in East Bay, but we're on a very steep hill so those who rely on walking or biking should be aware that the walk to the bus stop is a challenge. For long term guest, we provide access to a laundry room that is shared as well. The In-Law is completely private, but there is access to a laundry room that is shared with the main house above via a common area that also serves as emergency fire exit for the unit. We would never do laundry during the evening or morning, but you might hear us in the weekend afternoons by the laundry room. The entrance is not ADA compliant (yet). There are two, six inch steps to access the private entrance door. There are no stairs or steps in the apartment. We respect the privacy of our guests and do not generally have any direct interactions. We do live upstairs, however, and are happy to help with anything in person. We also respond very quickly to any airbnb messages our guests might send and/or cell phone call. Kensington is a quiet hamlet. Our corner of it has fantastic views and very close to Blake garden and Tilden park. There are 2 buses within a 15 minute walk of the unit. Not that we're not the type to party, but we have jobs and school to go to daily and are generally quiet from 10:00pm on during weekdays.
