Welcome to Back of the Forty-a wonderful barn style home built in 2016 and situated on Riverview Farm. This home is 15 min from Dartmouth College to the north and Windsor, VT to the south. It is a wonderful place to relax, watch the sunset and enjoy time with loved ones or retreat for some solitude. It is cozy, rustic and modern all at the same time. You can walk out the front of the house and be in an apple orchard within seconds-it is like a New England Napa! The house is situated on a working fruit farm. During your stay in the fall. you may chose to wander the farm, pick some apples or pumpkins or raspberries, find your way through the corn maze or sample some of our fresh pressed cider. If you book during May you will be able to see the orchard in the stages of bloom! Summer brings all sorts of green as things grow in anticipation of the harvest season. Winter is my favorite because it is time to cozy up to the fire and watch the flakes fall outside from the big picture windows. Back of the Forty is also within 45 min of Okemo, Sunappee Mtn, Whaleback and Killington if you are looking for some good alpine skiing! Guests have access to the whole Riverview Farm property as well as all rooms in the house. I will interact minimally. I am happy to answer any questions or help any way I can and am always reachable! It is incredibly rural while still being close to cultural events and good food! There is no public tansportation from this area. There are many rental car companies within 15 min of here. This is my home so you will find things of mine in the house. The fridge often has food in it though I always make room for guests. The master guests share a portion of my closet if needed. The house is yours while you are staying but it is my home and you will most likely see some of my things.
