Description
Private bedroom (with privacy lock from the inside of the room - no keyed or combination lock) with attached private bath and private deck located on the third floor of a historic restored row house near the Philadelphia Art Museum. We have cats, so this room is best for those who are not allergic to animals. Most of the time, our cats are off-site. The HVAC system that supplies our space and the Airbnb space is separate from the HVAC system that supplies the first-floor business. The space The bedroom is bright with southwest exposure. There is an attached bath. Closet space is available, but is limited since personal belongings are stored in the nightstands, bureau, and in a portion of the bedroom closet. There is a Keurig in the room along with a small refrigerator and microwave. There are no kitchen privileges (owner's space). You will find cold water waiting for you when you arrive. There is a private deck that is accessed directly from the bedroom. The thermostat that controls the temperature in the house and in the bedroom is right outside the bedroom door. The building is secured with a security system that is alarmed when the business that leases a portion of the property is closed. We provide detailed instructions on how to arm and disarm the system. It is centrally monitored for added security. Parking in Philadelphia can be challenging, so if you have a car you will likely need to pay for parking at a nearby lot. We can store luggage but the room is usually booked, so early check-ins and late check-outs may not be possible. Please keep in mind that the room is a third-floor room and there is no elevator. Occasionally, guests fail to realize that there is a privacy lock. The bedroom door does not lock from the outside of the room. A guest gave us a poor rating once because of the evening street noise she could hear from the restaurant across the street. Please keep in mind that the restaurant has outside seating in good weather, so you could hear laughing and talking until close to 10-11 PM on the weekends and around 9 PM on weekdays. We have tried very hard to make this room as pleasant as possible, and usually get great reviews, but every once in a while a guest really knocks the space. That makes us feel awful since we want our guests to enjoy their stay with us. So please read the description of the room carefully, and please feel free to email us before you book the room if you have any questions or need additional photos of the room. Guest access You will be allowed in the bedroom, private bath, along with the private deck described. Your bedroom is on the third floor. There is no elevator. Access to the kitchen is not available. During your stay We will be on site sometimes and not on site other times. Feline only veterinary hospital located on the first floor is open Monday through Saturday. Other things to note Very short walk to the Art Museum, the Barnes Foundation, the Rodin Museum and the Parkway and easy access to all areas of Center City. 10 minutes from Thirtieth Street Station and 20 minutes from the Philadelphia airport. Easy access to the Schuykill River trails for running or walking. Ten minute ride to the Convention Center. Parking in our neighborhood is hard to come by due to strictly enforced residential permit parking. There are lots close by with 24 hour parking ranging from $16-24. Registration Details 898970
