Hannah's Hide The Garrison Campsite Hadrians Wall

Our charming shepherds' huts sit in the old orchard of our farm in the village of Bowness on Solway, Cumbria. The site is named 'The Garrison' as it sits on the remains of the former Roman fort of Maia, a world heritage site at the end of Hadrian's Wall. Bowness itself is in an area of outstanding natural beauty sitting on the Solway Estuary which separates England from South West Scotland. We are 40 minutes from the Lake District and 20 minutes from the historic city of Carlisle. Other things to note We welcome babies and small children. However, please be aware that each hut has an unguarded wood burning stove and steps onto hard ground. We welcome one small/medium sized, well behaved dog Must not sleep on the beds Any ruined bedding will be chargeable We have a Lay-Z spa available upon request, which we can put next to your hut. £40 per night. Must be booked in advance. The Hot tub may not always be available, please check before booking. Check in closes at 8pm. No check in will be available after this time From September 2026 - Towels will not be provided, please bring your own If you would like to book a table in the bistro, it is advisable to book a table in advance.
