A cute little holiday cottage. Next door to The Bridge Hotel-(See note below) Opposite the botanical gardens, 5mins walk to "The Mill" the home of Castlemaine's Vintage Bazaar, The Taproom, Das Kaffehaus, Boom Town Wine and much more! This house is a simple cheerful affair, cosy and comfortable with everything you need. It’s an old, totally charming little house. It has smiling gnomes, potted plants, and a pink flamingo wallpapered hall. It has a fully fenced garden courtyard and the second bedroom is a bungalow at the rear of the courtyard. The main cottage has a fully equipped kitchen. It has only one bedroom with a queen bed, a cosy little living/dinning room with both gas heater and split system heating/cooling and a bathroom with bathtub. There is NO Wifi. Keep reading.... The bungalow is the second bedroom and extra charges apply. There is a queen sized bed and a single bed. THERE IS NO AIRCON IN THIS ROOM AND THE ONLY SOURCE OF COOLING IS A FAN. Electric heaters available for use in winter. There are no bathroom facilities in the bungalow so guests using this will have to use the one in the main cottage. Please read on for bungalow access below. Important bit..... ****FOR ACCESS TO BUNGALOW**** Base price for listing is for two people sharing the queen bed in the main cottage. If you are two people but not a couple or for whatever reason, need the second bedroom, please make sure your booking says three guests at least, even if actually only two. THE BUNGALOW IS KEPT LOCKED UNLESS YOUR BOOKING STATES MORE THAN TWO PEOPLE. Let me know your requirements if you aren't sure and I'll send you the price. There is a extra charge of $20 per person per night for this room... This cottage is perfect for a night out on the town, with the gardens and The Mill with its hub of activities just down the road for some day time meanderings. Keep reading.....really important bit next! ******The Pub Info.***** There is a pub next door, (the bridge hotel) with frequent live music events. On days it is open, the sound does carry through to the house. Please don't book if you think this may be an issue or perhaps book during the week on the days it is closed. It is on the late side over fri/sat nights. (It can be as late as 1am these nights) Some nights are noisier than others depending on who is playing, holidays, balmy weather etc. Weeknight hours are; Monday and Tuesday closed .....A good time for a quiet stay. Wed 3-11pm Thursday 3-11pm Weekend hours are; Friday 3pm till 1am Sat 3 pm till 1am Sunday 3 pm till 10 pm Summer months are noisier as the beer garden is in full swing. There is usually Sunday afternoon live music in the garden and other such events. Later checkouts can be arranged for most stays to accommodate sleeping in. Please ask if you would like more time in the morning. If you don't ask, I'm there at your door at 10am. During the week the pub is usually pretty mild, especially during winter. It is a country venue after all in a small town. You may as well pop over, have a meal and join the fun. It's the coolest pub in town. Guest access Entire house, courtyard and back bungalow if required. Other things to note The kitchen is stocked with basic essentials like real coffee with a couple of coffee making appliances. Assortments of teas, milk, , salt and pepper, olive oil and and other food bits and pieces that make their way into the house. THERE IS NO INTERNET! Steep steps lead up to the main house. Access is better via back gate if this is a problem.
