This charming studio on the 6th floor penthouse of an elevator building is in the heart of Manhattan. Whatever you look forward to doing in NYC, you’ll get there quickly and easily. The rooftop terrace is exclusive to the condo (only for us and for you, our guests). This listing is for a private bedroom and bathroom in our condo. We occupy the 5th floor; your private space has its own entrance on the 6th floor. ***The building will be making repairs to the roof S/S ’24. Details not yet known. This is a fully furnished studio on the 6th floor penthouse of an elevator building in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Whatever you look forward to doing in the city, you’ll get there quickly and easily from this fabulous, central location. The rooftop terrace in the photos is exclusive to the apartment. (Meaning it is only for us and for you, our guests.) *Please note that we anticipate that the building will be making repairs to the roof in the Spring/Summer of 2024 that will, at some point, impact our roof terrace. We will provide you with dates and details as soon as we learn them, and will of course honor cancellations within our current policy. The apartment is on a quiet street in a lively area, only a 2-minute walk from three major subway lines—the E, M, and 6—making it the perfect home base. You’ll be close to major landmarks and shopping, 5-star hotels, bars, and restaurants (there’s even Michelin-recommend ramen next door). Enjoy a short stroll through the city or hop in a cab—in just 10 minutes, you can find yourself at Central Park, Times Square, Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, MOMA, Bloomingdale’s, Carnegie Hall, and so, so, so much more. Located in the East 50s between 2nd & 3rd Avenues, the apartment faces elegant consulates and embassies, and there is a police precinct across the corner. You will always feel safe here. The studio is just under 300 square feet and is basically a lovely and private hotel room with a marble bathroom. You’ll sleep soundly with a memory foam mattress, double-paned windows, ceiling fan, and an excellent air conditioner and heater, controlled by you. There’s coffee and tea, but no kitchen or cooking implements. That said, you don’t need a kitchen when some of the best food in the world is right outside the door! Of course, the roof terrace is a highlight of this offering. The furnished, planted terrace is only for the apartment, not for the building. We (the owners) also use the roof terrace. The terrace is located above the unit and accessible by the stairwell in the building. Please note that we do not rent the terrace out for parties. Includes TV with netflix, Hulu, etc. and high-speed wifi Internet. There IS an air conditioner and heater that works very well! Closet provides plenty of hanging space. Carpeted entry in building. All linens provided. Laundry in building (must get a key card). NO: pets, parties, smoking inside, kitchen. Self-check in is available and keys will be in a lockbox. Directions provided upon confirmation. There is free street parking available after 7 pm until 8 am weekdays and on weekends, but finding a spot can be challenging as most spots are reserved for diplomats (who live in the elegant consulates mentioned above). We recommend taking advantage of public transportation. If you are driving into the city, plan on paying upwards of $30/day for parking. Download the SpotHero app before arriving to search for and book the best deal available. Easy access from JFK and Newark via public transportation and the subway station in Manhattan is across the street. Access to the roof terrace is via a common stairway in the apartment building so we do not want to have noise or additional guests roaming in the hallway. Our roof deck is the one with the metal bird on the door, directly across from the door to the roof deck. We live here full-time and are generally available to help and answer questions. That said, we have set this up to function like a private hotel room, and we respect your space! We are very conveniently located in Turtle Bay in central Manhattan on a quiet-ish, residential block that has everything you could want nearby. Within walking distance, you can enjoy restaurants serving cuisine from dozens of countries; local bars; the United Nations; the Museum of Modern Art; Central Park; incredible shopping including Bloomingdales, Bergdorf Goodman, and Nordstrom; major subway and bus lines; and other conveniences like drug stores, grocery stores, and more. Everything you want is here! We are just around the corner from the E, M, 6 subway lines as well as major uptown, downtown, and crosstown bus lines. You can also walk to many major attractions. If you have any questions, reach out! We want you to have a spectacular stay.
