Detached dogfriendly cottage, peaceful, big garden
Detached dogfriendly cottage, peaceful, big garden
Description
Dating back over 150 years, this detached stone cottage which sleeps 6, is a hidden gem, on the edge of a semi-rural village on a quiet lane overlooking fields. Easy to reach, this is the perfect base for a peaceful, relaxing break. It is ideally located to explore the quiet local dogfriendly beaches (10 mins drive to the coast) at Aberffraw & Rhosneigr, and stunning countryside. Tastefully furnished and very well equipped, including a log burner. Large safe, dog friendly garden and patio. The space This lovely cottage is believed to date back more than 150 years and beautifully combines character with comfort. Step inside to a welcoming lounge featuring a large log burner, perfect for cosy evenings. To one side, a separate dining room provides an ideal space for family meals or working from home (if you need to check those emails). The well-equipped kitchen/diner, complete with a dishwasher, is accessed from the lounge, while a separate utility room includes a handy downstairs WC, washing machine, and heat pump tumble dryer for added convenience. A striking cast-iron spiral staircase leads to the first floor, where you will find three bedrooms. A twin bedroom is situated opposite a king-size bedroom, while the spacious master bedroom is set further away for additional privacy. The master benefits from dual-aspect windows overlooking the surrounding fields and a contemporary en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower. All three bedrooms enjoy views across the fields to the front of the property. Also on the first floor is a generous family bathroom, featuring a walk-in shower and a beautiful freestanding bath, offering the perfect place to relax. Ty Cerrig is just over ten minutes drive from beaches at Aberffraw and Rhosneigr (both sandy and dogfriendly all year). Walks on the doorstep. There is a village shop (with post office) and pub five minutes walk away. The price includes a starter basket of logs, all linen/towels (please bring your own beach towels). Please note, this is a semi rural village and so depending on your phone network you may find it patchy (I find EE is best), but WiFi is available. Family friendly- - a high chair, stair gate and travel cot are available > 120 x 60 cm (mattress available, although please see up to date guidance from The Lullaby Trust) - one folding bed guard (for children). Please note that I do not supply bedding for the cot. There is a fixed stair gate at the top of the stairs. Dog friendly- - large enclosed rear garden - multiple dog bowls (indoors) - throws and dog towels to make pooch feel at home - warm water dog wash station. Please bring your own bedding if you wish for your dog to be in / on the bedrooms. Please let me know that you are bringing a dog and remember to bring your dog’s bed! There is a one off charge for dogs. This is split three ways, between cleaning costs and two charities (Dogs 4 Rescue and PAWS Anglesey). There are often wild rabbits in the garden and in neighbouring gardens. They wont appear while you (or your dog) are in the garden and they do move fast when they sense you, but if your dog has a high prey drive they may want to chase. The furniture in the lounge is set up around the log burner (rather than the TV). You are welcome to move the furniture to suit your needs, however please return everything to how you found it. Thank you. Guest access Off road parking is available on the driveway immediately in front of the garage (two cars). There are gates across the drive. Other things to note There is no EV charger on-site. Guests should not charge their vehicles from the domestic sockets. There are charging points across the island. The nearest EV points are listed in the guide book, available once your booking is confirmed.
