Description

Magical dog-friendly, detached, quiet traditional stone cottage and grounds for 6, with panoramic sea views, sunrises, stars and moon over the water. Enjoy year-round short breaks and long stays. Dogs love the huge space! On the terrace, gaze at Hell’s Mouth Bay, unwind in nature, soak up breathtaking views in total privacy. Enjoy Llyn Peninsula's micro-climate, fresh sea air, wildlife and walks from the front door. Wi-fi, Netflix, DVDs, woodburner and slouchy sofas for chilled relaxation The space Welcome to Bryn Ffynnon near Rhiw, Wild Bay Wales. Guests say this is a magical place. Hunker down next to the fire with a book or glass of wine, or daydream at the wonderful views. Enjoy a lie-in in the comfy beds or get out into nature and explore the footpaths running right from the cottage. Orientated south-east the cottage enjoys the most wonderful sunrises on clear mornings with sun all day. Access to the cottage is via a rough single track which is narrow in some parts, about 500 metres long. Please check your car's suitability in the 'guest access' section before booking. The area is steeped in history. In 10 minutes you can walk part of the pilgrim's way to Ffynnon Sant (holy well), walk up to the site of the Neolithic axe factory, walk the coastal path towards Rhiw village and standing stones nearby or take the footpath from outside the drive right down to the beach clifftop. Well-behaved dogs are welcome too, we request a £30 cleaning charge for dogs, maximum 2 dogs. Our dog loves the grounds and never wants to leave. The cottage is heated by the dining room's main 14kw top-of-the-range Clearview solid fuel stove with back boiler that drives the radiators. Eco-coal and logs supplied. A powerful second Clearview woodburner in the sitting room complements the radiators. Keep the fire lit to keep radiators warm. The stove will be laid and ready for you in winter, and when especially cold can be lit in advance if you tell us your arrival time with some notice (November to March). Re-light the stove every day to keep the radiators running, or bank it up overnight. Water is heated by the electric immersion heater for those long soaks in the roll-top bath. Double and king sized beds have electric blankets for cooler nights. Towels and bedlinen are provided and beds will be made up for you, laundered using gentle eco products and air or line-dried. The cottage is professionally cleaned. Guest access The entire house and garden is private to you. Access to the cottage is via a rough single track which is narrow and steep in some parts, and about 500 metres long. If you're vehicle is not suitable you can park in the layby at the top of the lane and walk down (about 10 minutes) The track is suitable for vehicles up to a width of approximately 195cm / 76 inches with standard ground clearance. A four wheel drive is useful in very wet weather. There is private parking and turning space inside the grounds for 2 or 3 vehicles comfortably. There is parking for other vehicles on the main road 500m away. Not suitable fo motorbikes, campervans or any heavy vehicles. Other things to note The cottage is very peaceful & quiet with no cars passing by as you will be at the end of the track, past several other cottage driveways. There is a public footpath running behind the cottage and onto the heathland surrounding it. You will be in a protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the grounds bordering National Trust land. Close by is the National Trust manor house Plas-yn-Rhiw with its own woodland walks, cafe and shop. The house and well-tended ornamental gardens is within walking distance, and the fishing village of Aberdaron is 15 minutes drive away offering a fantastic bakery, outstanding fish and chips, well-stocked Spar convenience store and two pubs serving food. Due to recent reduction of council and national trust staff, some of the footpaths may be more overgrown than usual.
