Description

"Dziupla" means mountain cave – and that's how this more than 100-year-old wooden house feels: cozy, quiet, rustic, and original. The walls made of real wooden balls make it a rarity. Modern bathroom, kitchen, sauna, fireplace and fire stoves provide comfort. Living room and bedroom (30 m²) overlooking the High Tatras. Hikes up to 2000 m. Thermal bath , shopping and gastronomy - in the next town. Ideal for anyone looking for nature, silence and real relaxation. The space The house is situated in a small mountain village in the heart of the High Tatras, not far from Bukowina Tatrzańska and Jurgów. It is a more than 100-year-old ecological ballet house, built exclusively from natural materials. Surrounded by meadows, forest and absolute tranquility – no pensions nearby, no hustle and bustle. You can only hear birdsong and the sounds of simple village life. Cows graze in the meadow, and in just a few minutes you can walk to the forest, to a mountain stream and on hiking trails that lead directly into the Tatras. Through the forest you can easily reach Tatra National Park. The Slovak border is a 10-minute drive, and Zakopane is about 15 km away. In the area (Bukowina Tatrzańska, Jurgów) you will find restaurants and shopping. The house has about 70 m² of living space. On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen with an original working Austrian wood-burning stove with oven, a small hallway and a modern bathroom, divided into two rooms: one with shower and toilet, the other with sink – ideal for two people. A wooden staircase leads to the upper floor with an open living and sleeping area: a double bed, a sofa bed and a sleeping mattress (1.40 m) on a small gallery. It can be heated electrically or with two stoves – the wood stove in the kitchen as well as a cast iron oven ("Koza") in the living room with viewing window, perfect for cozy evenings by the fire. The entrance leads over a small porch. From the upstairs living room you can directly access a spacious terrace overlooking the peaks of the Slovak Tatras and the green surroundings. There is no TV in the house – this is a conscious decision to promote peace and nature experience. Wifi is available if you still want to stay online. An ideal place for anyone looking for real relaxation, silence, nature and authenticity – without sacrificing comfort. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house (approx. 70 m²) – with fully equipped kitchen, living/sleeping area, antique wood stove, fireplace ("Koza"), modern electric heating, veranda and large terrace with mountain views. The garden can be used – to relax on sun loungers or as a play area for children. There is also a fire pit, but campfires may only take place in consultation with the host – we are happy to organize this together. The sauna is available on request with extra costs. Wi-Fi is available. Directly from the house you can reach hiking trails, meadows and the forest. Parking in front of the house is included in the price, as well as bed linen and towels. Other things to note Our mountain house is more than 100 years old – a real rarity. We have deliberately waived modern conversions and largely preserved the traditional wooden construction inside and outside. Please note: smoking and parties are strictly prohibited in the house. We don't tolerate loud parties. Dealing with open fire is particularly sensitive – the house consists entirely of wood and is surrounded by nature and forest. Also in the garden, fire may only be lit in agreement with us. In winter it is mainly heated with wood (wood stove and fireplace). The electric heating is only used as an addition. Upon arrival we will provide a free starter package of firewood. Firewood as well as electricity consumption over 5 kWh per person per day will be billed separately. There is no TV but reliable wifi. The house has only one large living-bedroom – ideal for couples, families or close friends. Children can sleep on the top of a loft bed, accessible via a wooden ladder. Towels, bed sheets, wifi and a parking space at the house are included in price. We live right next door and are always available – friendly, helpful and close to nature. We are happy to give tips about the region and help in any situation.
