Description

"Dziupla" means mountain cave – and that's exactly how this over 100-year-old wooden house feels: cozy, quiet, rustic and original. The walls made of real wooden bales make it a rarity. Modern bathroom, kitchen, sauna, fireplace and fire stoves provide comfort. Living room and bedroom (30 m²) overlooking the High Tatras. Hikes up to 2000 m. Thermal bath, shopping and gastronomy - in the next town. Ideal for those seeking nature, tranquility and real relaxation. The space The house is situated in a small mountain village in the heart of the High Tatras, not far from Bukowina Tatrzańska and Jurgów. This is a 100-year-old, ecological bale house, built exclusively from natural materials. Surrounded by meadows, forest and absolute tranquility – no pensions nearby, no hustle and bustle. You can only hear birds chirping and the sounds of simple village life. Cows graze in the meadow, and in just a few minutes you can walk to the forest, to a mountain stream and on hiking trails that lead directly into the Tatras. Through the forest you can easily reach the Tatra National Park. The Slovak border is 10 minutes by car, Zakopane is about 15 km away. In the area (Bukowina Tatrzańska, Jurgów) you will find restaurants and shopping. The house has about 70 m² of living space. On the ground floor, there is a fully equipped kitchen with an original, working Austrian wood-burning stove with oven, a small hallway and a modern bathroom, divided into two rooms: one with shower and toilet, the other with sink – ideal for two people. A wooden staircase leads to the upper floor with an open-plan living and sleeping area: a double bed, a sofa bed and a sleeping mattress (1.40 m) on a small gallery. Heating can be done electrically or with two stoves – the wood stove in the kitchen and a cast iron stove ("Koza") in the living room with a viewing window, perfect for cozy evenings by the fire. The entrance leads through a small porch. From the living room on the upper floor, you can directly access a spacious terrace overlooking the peaks of the Slovak Tatras and the green surroundings. There is no TV in the house – this is a conscious decision to promote peace and nature experience. Wi-Fi is available if you still want to stay online. An ideal place for those who seek real relaxation, tranquility, nature and authenticity – without sacrificing comfort. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house (approx. 70 m²) – with a fully equipped kitchen, living/sleeping area, antique wood-burning stove, fireplace ("Koza"), modern electric heating, veranda and large terrace with mountain views. The garden can also be used – to relax on deck chairs or as a play area for children. There is also a fireplace, but campfires can only take place in consultation with the host – we are happy to organize it together. The sauna is available on request at an extra cost. Wi-Fi is available. Directly from the house you can reach hiking trails, meadows and the forest. Parking in front of the house is included in the price, as well as bed linen and towels. Other things to note Our mountain house is over 100 years old – a real rarity. We deliberately refrained from modern conversions and largely preserved the traditional wooden construction inside and out. Please note: smoking and parties are strictly prohibited in the house. We do not tolerate loud parties. The handling of open fire is particularly sensitive – the house is made entirely of wood and is surrounded by nature and forest. Also in the garden, fire may only be lit in consultation with us. In winter, it is mainly heated with wood (wood stove and fireplace). The electric heater is only used as a supplement. Upon arrival, we will provide a free starter package of firewood. Firewood and electricity consumption over 5 kWh per person per day will be charged separately. There is no TV, but reliable Wi-Fi. The house has only one large living room/bedroom – ideal for couples, families or close friends. Children can sleep on top of a bunk bed, accessible via a wooden ladder. Towels, linens, Wi-Fi and a parking space at the house are included in the price. We live right next door and are always available – friendly, helpful and close to nature. We are happy to give tips about the region and help in any situation.
