Tweede Wind Self-catering Holiday Apartment in the coastal town of Yzerfontein on the South African West Coast is owned and managed by a retired couple. Tweede Wind is a very neat and clean, modern, self-catering apartment, located on the ground floor of a double storey hilltop-house, with a private entrance, and offers stunning unobstructed sea views over the ocean towards Dassen Island. The space The room/s booked and the rest of the apartment is for your exclusive use and will never be shared with strangers. We can accommodate up to four guests in two double bedrooms, one with a queen and the other with a double bed, both rooms with ceiling fans and on-suite bathrooms. Open plan kitchenette, well-equipped for self-catering, with fridge-freezer, two-plate induction hob with cooker hood, airfryer, microwave, sandwich toaster, cordless kettle, cutlery, crockery, a wide variety of utensils, and also has a ceiling fan. The comfortable living area features loungers, tables and chairs, knee blankets, 50 cm flat-screen TV, full DStv, TV streamer with Netflix, ShowMax, Prime Video, and YouTube. Also an assortment of hand games, and uncapped 80/50 (fluctuating) Wi-Fi. A start-up supply of tea, coffee, rusks, ice, bottled water, briquettes and fire lighter, is supplied, also a sufficient quantity of cleaning materials, hand soap, shampoo, shower gel, and toilet paper. The patio offers two sunbeds, patio umbrella, two deck chairs and a picnic bench. There is an indoor charcoal braai (no wood), and a Weber braai for outside use. We do have alternative power during loadshedding, providing it is used responsibly and the national loadshedding schedule is not extreme. Secure parking for one car, possibly two, is available inside the premises behind a motorised gate. The entire building is equipped with an alarm system with external sensors and the area is patrolled by an armed-response company and neighbourhood watch. As the house lies on sloping ground there is a flight of 17 stairs to the apartment’s entrance, and therefore unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs, or a movement-impaired person. Please note: Guests book on a per room per night basis, maximum two persons sharing. If two guests prefer a room each, it will be at double the rate. Sorry, Tweede Wind is not suitable for pets and children between 1 and 10 years of age. Guest access Apartment / unit Please note that the apartment is on the ground floor and on the sea side of the main house, where the owners also stay, however, it is completely private with a separate entrance to the apartment. As the property lies on sloping ground on a hilltop there is a flight of stairs leading down to the apartment’s entrance and therefore unfortunately not wheelchair-friendly, nor easily accessible by the frail or movement impaired. Rooms: • Two rooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a double bed. • Ceiling fans with remotes. • Bed linen and bedding. • A maximum of two persons sharing per room. • We do not have a family room. • Electric blankets during extremely cold weather. Bathrooms: • Two full en-suite bathrooms. • Extractor fans. • Towels. • Hand soap, shampoo, and shower gel. • Toilet paper. • Hair dryers. Kitchenette: • Ceiling fan. • Microwave oven. • Full fridge / freezer. • Two-plate induction hob, cooker hood, and compact countertop airfryer oven. • Electric cordless kettle. • Bread / sandwich toaster. • Egg boiler. • Table, chairs, crockery, cutlery, and a wide range of utensils. • A start-up supply of coffee, tea, sugar, sweetener, and long-life milk. • Basic spices. • A start-up supply of bottled water. • Cleaning materials, dish and drying cloths, broom and scoop. • Ironing board and iron. • Vacuum cleaner. Living area: • Alternative power during load-shedding. • 50cm Flat screen TV. • Full Multichoice DSTV. • TV streamer with Netflix, ShowMax, Prime Video, and YouTube. • Uncapped 80/60 Wi-fi. • A selection of hand games. • Loungers. • Table and chairs. • Clothes/towel drying rack. • Knee blankets in winter. • Inside briquette/charcoal braai (barbeque) (no wood please) • Extractor fan. Patio: • Weber braai. You are welcome to use wood and move it around the front to the best sheltered position, as the wind direction in Yzerfontein can change frequently. • Two sunbeds, and two deck chairs, cushions stored in the living area. • Picnic bench. • Patio umbrella. Parking & security: • One car, possibly two, depending on size, inside the gated area. • Perimeter beams at night.
