Located on the dunes, just a short walk to the beach in the private northern end of Neskowin by the Sea, The Hideaway is the perfect retreat when you just need to get away. A place to eat, drink, laugh, read, write, lounge, wander, discover and fall in love with. Inspired by Nordic coastal cottages, we designed The Hideaway to be beautifully simple but also cozy. We love being at our home, and know you'll feel the same way! The vaulted living room features an ample seating area, large flatscreen TV with Apple TV, Xbox One with Kinect and beefy sound system. The adjoining, vaulted great room encompasses the kitchen, dining room and a seating area by the wood-burning fireplace. The three bedrooms each have comfortable king beds, separately controlled heating units and ceiling fans. Two of the rooms have private bathrooms, and the third is just across the hall from the guest bathroom. The master bedroom is on the opposite side of the house from the other two bedrooms and features a vaulted ceiling, bathroom with jetted tub (and separate shower) and double sink. The back deck and raised crow's nest have a bright southern exposure and are just a few steps to a private path through the sand dunes to get to the beach (we counted about 100 walking steps). It's one of the most stunning and private beaches we have been on, with a plethora of sand dollars, shells and other oceanic treasures to find and collect. A peaceful mile walk down the beach takes you to the village. We have beach towels and beach chairs to use when you walk down to the beach to sun or build a beach fire (please no fires within 100 feet of beach grass). You will have access to the entire home with ample space for up six guests across three bedrooms. We live in downtown Portland (about 2 hours from Neskowin), but are available by text or phone 24/7 for any questions during your stay. We are also happy (and eager) to provide any suggestions for myriad adventures in advance of your stay! The first time we set foot in the village of Neskowin, we fell in love. It was a summer day, and the farmer's market was in full swing (Saturdays, May-September, 9-1). The village has a New England costal vibe with an eclectic mix of beach cottages from many decades and designs. Our family now owns three homes Neskowin, and we love spending time here whenever we can. Our neighborhood is north of the village, down a meandering one-lane road. Sandwiched between the dunes and a wildlife refuge, Neskowin North has a gated entry, and a near-private beach perfect for relaxation, beach games and bonfires. The Cafe at Hawk Creek is a great spot to grab good food and drinks (try the wood-fired pizza), with a lovely deck and live music during the summer. The Neskowin Trading Company market serves to-go breakfast and lunch and has a great selection of upscale foods (and a good wine selection). The public 9-hole golf course couldn't be more charming and offers happy hour, movie nights and other activities during the summer. Of course, a Neskowin weekend isn't complete without a walk down the south beach to Proposal Rock and the nearby ghost forest. The Hideaway is in the private northern area of Neskowin, about a mile from the village proper and access to scenic Highway 101. You can reach the village by leisurely stroll down the beach, or a short drive through the charming neighborhoods (please observe the 15 MPH speed limit throughout the village). Pacific City and Lincoln City are a short 15-20 minute drive away (to the north and south, respectively) if you're looking for additional dining options, larger grocery stores, liquor stores, etc.
