A charming, luxurious and stylish newly renovated guest suite B&B apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 ensuite bathrooms and a lounge with a pantry, on the semi-basement floor of an historic canal house overlooking the central Brouwersgracht, one of the most beautiful canals of Amsterdam. The guest house apartment is very private, safe and convenient. The space Experience this beautiful newly renovated B&B apartment with a charming, stylish and luxury boutique hotel guest suite look & feel, combining modern day comforts, such as luxury bathroom fittings and equipment, comfortable beds, custom built wardrobes, modern design furniture, high speed Wifi and a large flat-screen HD cable TV, with historic details such as the original ceiling wooden beams and masonry, the 17th century glass master bedroom partitioning and the original street level door. These original guest suite quarters are part of historic and iconic canal house ‘Pand 1616’ which has an authentic 17th century bell-gable and a wide façade, is one of the most photographed and painted canal houses on the Brouwersgracht and has featured in many historic and architecture magazines, and in movies. It is a listed and protected national monument, a ‘Rijksmonument’. The guest house B&B apartment's lounge and the second bedroom windows overlook the Brouwersgracht canal and the historic canal houses and the Herenmarkt, a cosy neigbourhood garden square opposite. In the summer you can sit outside in front to have a drink and enjoy the canal view, as many neighbours do. The new double beds are high quality with extra comfort matrasses and a double top-matrass. Upon request the beds can be prepared as single beds. Bedroom lights can be switched on and off from the bedside and both bedrooms have black-out quality curtains. Both small but chic ensuite bathrooms have a shower, a toilet, a sink, heating and a mirror. Clean bed linen, towels, hangers, soaps and shampoo will be provided. A baby cot and bed linen can be provided upon request. The lounge features a pantry with a fridge with a freezer compartment, a sink and cupboards with crockery and cutlery, cups & glasses, a Nespresso coffee machine and milk foamer/heater, a toaster and a hot water kettle. Coffee cups and tea will be supplied. Note that the guest room space does not feature a fully equipped kitchen. There are plenty of nice restaurants, luchrooms and breakfast places in the neighbourhood as we have listed in the Guestbook section in this App. The B&B apartment is warm and comfortable in wintertime and cool in the summer. It has central heating and the thermostat tabs for each individual heater in each room can be set at preferred levels. The guest house is well ventilated, naturally through the windows, and through a mechanical ventilation system present in each (bath)room, which also can be set at preferred levels. There are three smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the guest house rooms, a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit, an iron board with an iron and a safe. The headroom underneath two of the historic wooden ceiling beams at the entrance and the second bedroom is 1.92 metre or 6’3’’, hence very tall guests have to take this into consideration, elsewhere in the guest house the ceilings are higher (between 2.1 metres or 6’8’’ and 2.4 metres or 7’9’’). The guest suite apartment is also very suitable and convenient for business travelers, due to its central location, proximity to public transport and transportation links, excellent restaurants and lunch rooms in the neighbourhood, high speed Wifi and fixed internet connections, and availability of international business and news cable channels. The lounge is a nice and quiet place to get some work done, or to wind down after a busy day. The guest house apartment is very private, safe and convenient to access with luggage. 'Pand 1616' is a family home and the hosts and owners of the B&B apartment live in the house above. Guest access The guest house apartment is the perfect place to experience, explore and discover Amsterdam, as it is so centrally located on such a beautiful stretch of the Brouwersgracht, and to relax and feel at home in style and comfort after a day of sight-seeing. The guest house is a 5-10 minute walk away from Central Station, from where you can take a 20 minute train to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, hence it is very convenient to reach. Upon request, car transportation from and to the airport can be arranged. The guest quarters are very private, safe and convenient to access with luggage. 24-hour check-in is from 3 pm and 24-hour check-out until 12 noon. You can leave your luggage in the guest house apartment in-between these times as this timeslot will be used for cleaning and maintenance. Other things to note Parking your car besides the canals in the neighbourhood is fairly expensive (7.5 euro/hour). As an alternative you can reserve a place in advance at: - P1 Parking Amsterdam Centrum via www dot p1 dot nl for around 20 euros for 24 hours, which is a 5 minute walk from the apartment. - park at Oosterdock parking garage, a 20 min walk, we can provide the details.
