Description
In response to guest feedback we have refurbished and improved this stunning space. A unique opportunity to stay in this beautifully appointed top floor apartment in a stunning Georgian manor house in the heart of Plymouth. Three large bedrooms with a fully equipped kitchen and spacious living area. This all represents tremendous value for money for a comfortable stay. The space A unique opportunity to sample some of Plymouth's architectural history, staying in the servants’ quarters of this impressive Georgian creation. The house was designed and built by John Foulston, a Londoner who won a competition to design the main Theatre and Hotel in Plymouth, sadly no longer standing. His style is well documented and believed to have been strongly influenced by Sir John Soame. The house has had an interesting life - Plymouth’s first independent school for 90 years and housed soldiers during the second world war. Joanna and Andrew moved into the house 12 years ago to raise their twin girls and restore this wonderful space. You will find Joanna's style distinctly Scandinavian, no doubt an influence from her Swedish mother. Guest access The apartment has it's own access from the back of the building reached by 2 flights of wooden stairs with a hand rail. We offer off street parking in the wide gravel drive, so all you need to do is walk through the rear garden to find the entrance to the apartment. You will have access to the entire apartment. Use of the garden is not permitted. Other things to note We must be honest and let guests be made aware in advance that it is not suitable for people with walking difficulties. There are 22 steps from the ground floor to the apartment entrance. There are then a further 19 steps from the entrance to the living area. One of the charming characteristics of this attic space are the cosy spaces and low ceilings. Guests are warned that there are low hanging beams at the perimeters of the rooms. Please mind your head!
