Description
Magic is the word most people use when they visit this hidden gem. Built in 1939 as a fishing cabin by a gentleman who incorporated box cars as rafters and beams, dates still visible since removing the attic. By far the best place I've ever lived. I decided to share it with others who love to explore, who love listening to the voice of the creek or who come just to sit on the porch high above the creek with a spouse, friend, family, or alone. For the best sleep, open the bedroom window! The space This cabin has the feeling of being in the woods, yet it’s right around the corner from grocery stores, fine dining, and great boutiques in little neighborhoods. Perched atop a rushing creek, you can sit on the porch, listen to nature, and forget the world above you. Or be lulled to sleep with the windows open. NOTE there is ONE bedroom with a queen bed plus a loft upstairs with ONE queen bed, however it is not suitable for two adults upstairs. 2 children are fine or one person. Blue Ridge Parkway is 15 min away as is downtown. Guest access You have access to the whole cabin. Other things to note I leave a laminated list on the kitchen counter with wifi info, things to do, vineyards to visit (Valhalla is minutes away), restaurants to dine. There is a basket inside the front door with tons of things to do, neat shops to visit, like Black Dog Salvage. Also the Historic City Market on Market Street and the Grandin Road Village, and a tiny mountain town named Floyd. And feel free to ask for recommendations, I love giving them out!
