Description
The Potting Shed provides a private and secluded environment in which to relax and enjoy a holiday on the Isle of Wight. Modern open plan living, comfortable double bed, fully equipped kitchen and an abundance of outside space. Sitting on the edge of the popular sailing village of Gurnard, the Potting Shed is a short walk to the seafront, two highly regarded pubs as well as the village café and shops. Cowes is a 15-20 minute walk away. Regular bus services to Cowes and Newport (main bus depot). The space With plenty of outside space and off road parking, you can use The Potting Shed to relax back at base after a day exploring the scenic Isle of Wight. The accommodation is private and overlooks countryside, while still having the benefit of conveniences close by. The village includes a well stocked village store, an artisan coffee shop and a couple of fantastic local pubs. There’s also a leisure centre close by. Walking distance to beautiful beachside sunsets and the sailing scene in both Gurnard and Cowes, allowing you the opportunity to explore on foot and leave the car at home! Parking in town is also hassle-free for those choosing to drive. The accommodation provides a great space to relax within, including a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge, a private double bedroom and a luxurious shower. During summer months, enjoy your dinner ‘al fresco’ looking out over green fields or an evening drink on the decking. Open up the bi-fold doors to really enjoy the warmer weather and sunsets! Use the field area surrounding The Potting Shed to relax within, to exercise in or even for your dog to explore. Our guests frequently comment on the benefits of the extensive outside space available - a rarity among holiday lets. Don’t be put off by the name, “The Potting Shed” is a modern brick-built self-contained annex tastefully decorated in wood-effect boarding. It is fully heated and well insulated to keep you warm and cosy during the winter months. There’s also the heated towel rail and underfloor heating for a bit of luxury. On a clear night there’s nothing quite like curling up with a blanket looking up at the stars. Visitors often remark at how clear the night skies are on the Island. Having lived on the Island for many years (and still loving it!), we will be happy to help with any questions about the local area to ensure you enjoy your stay. We have carefully compiled a selection of local activities and leaflets to help you explore what the Island has to offer; you will find these under the coffee table in the lounge. There is also our personalised Guidebook uploaded to Airbnb which you may find useful. We supply all the essentials to get you started and hope that you will enjoy your stay with us. Any questions, please just ask. Guest access Access is through a private gate to hard standing area for car parking. Access to the Potting Shed itself is up a small number of steps. We politely request that guests use the field entrance to enter and exit from the Potting Shed and not walk through our separately enclosed garden next door. Use of the gate by the decking is strictly prohibited for your own safety. Other things to note Please note there is a shower in The Potting Shed but not a bath. Please note that there is some building work being undertaken in the vicinity. It has no impact on the views from The Potting Shed. Noise levels are kept to a minimum, but you may notice a small amount of noise at certain times and never during anti-social hours. We live close by (closer than the Potting Shed is to the building work) and can personally vouch for this. Any questions, please just ask.
