Description
Thoughtfully designed, this 3-bedroom gem is ideally situated for relaxation and exploration for family, friends, or coworkers. Walkers will love the proximity to coffee, dining, and shopping spots as well as a treasured bookstore and inviting library. Downhill and XC skiers have multiple options from 7 to 17 miles away. Bikers, hikers, skaters, and golfers will be equally pleased. A multi-use year-round rail trail and very active rec park in walking distance delights both young and old. The space An historic home re-imagined with beauty, flow, and comfort. Invite some friends to gather at the long dining table (seats 8 comfortably), while others relax in the adjacent living room and yet 2 more have a quiet conversation or game of backgammon at the breakfast nook. Upstairs, each bedroom offers a unique mountain view. The queen room is conveniently located across from the full bathroom, while the cozy double and twin bedrooms are perfect for all ages. The twin room features a foldable table with an ethernet cable for a great workspace, or easily set up the Pak n' Play or cot, stored in the laundry room. Outdoors, relax at the table under the autumn maple tree and watch the town settle in as the sun sets behind Equinox Mountain. Don't forget to grab a unique bottle of wine at Natures Market across the street first. And with your first morning coffee, return to that same spot in the front yard to enjoy the sun dance its way over the Green Mountain range and plan your day of adventure! Guest access Two vehicles can park in the driveway. For more vehicles, no problem, just ask. Everything is so convenient and walkable here, you can enjoy the town without driving. You could even . . . Arrive to Manchester Center on AMTRAK (bus segment)! The station's name is MCV. The comfortable Mercedes bus arrives/departs twice per day from the north (i.e. Burlington, VT), and the south (i.e. New York City via train to ALBANY, then bus to Manchester Center). The bus stop is only a 7-minute walk from this airbnb! Local buses to Bennington, Rutland as well as to Stratton Mountain (in winter) are also available. Let me know if you are arriving via public transportation and I can help you figure things out. Other things to note My husband and I live in the mother-in-law apt at the back of the house. Your space is completely private, separated by 3 doors and a "buffer" mud room entrance between the 2 sides, never used while you are here.
