“Alice Springs, Windsor on Vaal” is a 5 acre property that has a magnificent Vaal river frontage with its own Jetty to access the approximate 45km of navigable riverway; and is approximately 80km/ 1 hour from Johannesburg. If you enjoy river sports; fishing, bird life; sun sets; open space this is an ideal location for a weekend stay away and just glorious for longer stay too; both in summer and winter the property provides much to enjoy as a break away; with a range of accessible golf courses. The space Enjoy the tranquillity and come back refreshed. Excellent for families with kids or big groups. The family home is a home away from home, that has been cared for and loved by all that stay there, it is well equipped and offers the use of a swimming pool; jetty; helpful staff. The property is located in Kaalplaats; a residential community that has security access control 24/7. Alice Springs is well known for its garden and roses; rolling lawn that has doubled up as a cricket pitch for many family events and the ability to swim along the river bank and in the swimming pool. Our staff can help you unpack your car/ trailer and pack your fridge supplies into the Walk-in Fridge. We are available telephonically for any assistance required by yourself or any requests via our Houseman. There is a total of 3 staff that will be available to assist you during your stay; Our Houseman and his Garden assistant live on the property with his family. Our helpful Houseman will assist you as your main contact person and can help you launch at the Jetty and make a fire; setting out of the gazebo at the river whilst he manages the overall up keep of the property with his assistant. He will lock the main gate at night and re-open in the morning. Our friendly household assistant will assist our guests with a daily cleaning service that includes washing of dishes, making beds and general tidying of rooms and will be on hand throughout the day (except breaks) to assist you in the kitchen to help prepare basic food items and to set the table. A dishwasher is available. The house is very suitable for small break away team conferences that require a venue that allows for the quietness of the area and the river flow to provide inspiration. Small groups are welcome but due to resident’s by-laws stringent noise regulations - noise and loud music is not allowed. In summer and winter; the house provides its guests with a great place for families to unwind; enjoy each other’s company; to enjoy watersports; bird watching; to go for runs and cycle with loads of places to visit in the surrounds. Boat hire is available in the area; all launching of boats are subject to house rules. Flotation devices (life Jackets) are not provided and must be brought by guests. It is suggested that if you are visiting in the summer to bring some Mosquito spray and sunblock; and in the winter bring additional firewood; a basic supply to make a fire will be available on arrival for your first nights requirements but you will need your own to continue stocking the fire for the remainder of your stay. Firewood can be purchased and is accessible from the local spaza shops. The water provided in the house is accessed from borehole water; drinking water is provided via water dispensers. Pam's House Rules •Antique Pool Table may only be used by adults; no Children under 18 years and to be used with care. The state of the table will be monitored. •The total visitors including children cannot exceed 16 guests from 8pm to 6am •No Parties or events •Check in after 10am before 8pm and •Check out before 5pm •No smoking •All Swimming in the river and pool to be supervised and the host, co-host; their families and staff will not be held liable for any injuries and/or death.. •Only vehicles launching watercrafts are allowed to access the side lane past the house and are required to drive as close as possible to the left hand side of the property; avoiding to drive on the lawn. •All individuals wishing to launch a vessel or watercraft from the property must hold a certificate of competence and are required to have the applicable licenses. •No diving into river from the bank or Jetty or into the pool – it is shallow. •No Camping or erecting of tents on the property •No parking of cars at the front of the property or driving on the lawn (unless launching boat) Guest access Entire Home 14 Guests 5 Bedrooms 5 Bathrooms 10 Beds Check In: after 10am and before 8pm Check Out: before 5pm Room Type: Entire home/ apt The whole house is available to you; except for the Pantry and some cupboards in the house that are locked that contain home owner belongings. The outside store room; boat garages; boats and staff housing facilities are not available for access by guests. Guests will be requested to sign an indemnity form that indemnifies the owners (Host and co-host) and their families; staff on the property; they cannot be held liable for any injury or death that may occur by any guest or guest’s guests whilst visiting, making use of the house; its equipment; accessing the property, the river and/or swimming pool.
