HANDILIN: Charming, Scenic and Secluded

A traditional cottage in a charming, secluded village with amazing scenery – unique, rural and remote, yet only one hour from the capital! The space The cottage is situated in the centre of the village Elduvík and enjoys a spectacular view of the bay, the surrounding mountains, and the winding stream running through the valley behind the village church. Elduvík, with its population of only eighteen, is a truly charming village, where the friendly neighbourhood dogs play in the narrow streets, and the peace and quiet is only “interrupted” by the sound of the waves crashing against the rocky beach and the bleating of the sheep roaming around freely. Originally the village grocery store, the cottage was fully restored in 2004, with the bathroom and kitchen again remodelled in 2018. House Layout: Upstairs: two separate bedrooms – one with two twin beds, the other with a double bed – and a common area between them. First floor: the entrance and bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen with quality cookware from KitchenAid, Le Creuset and others, a wood burning stove and a cosy dining area, as well as the living room with its comfortable furniture, colourful art and a Steinway piano. Basement: utility and storage room with washer and dryer and plenty of wood for the fire. Mod Cons: free WI-FI internet, Bose wireless Bluetooth speaker, Canon digital photo printer, Nespresso coffee maker, automatic ice cube maker in freezer, underfloor heating in entrance and bathroom. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house. Bed linen and towels are included, as well as Nespresso coffee pods, kusmi teas and L’Occitane hand and bath soaps. Two cross sport bicycles are also available to guests. Other things to note Elduvík is located in the northern part of the island Eysturoy. There is no public transportation to the village, but by car you can get pretty much anywhere on the mainland within one hour, e.g. the airport and the capital city Tórshavn. Grocery stores are a 25 min drive away.
