Its sleeps 10 adults in 5 beautifully appointed bedrooms with 6th bedroom which is a loft that can accommodate up to 6 single beds for kids. There is 3 further double rooms with double beds and one other bedroom downstairs with two ¾ beds in it, all sharing a separate bathroom. A spacious loft can accommodate 6 further people in single beds. It has a sumptuous kitchen fully equipped , beautiful dining room and separate comfortable living room with amazing views. The lodge is lovingly furnished with genuine antiques creating an authentic and relaxed farmhouse atmosphere. There is a large indoor fireplace and outdoor all weather barbeque, as well as a wood fired hot tub outside. All linen and bath towels are supplied as well as kitchen and bathroom consumables, firewood, blitz, grid and tongs. Guests need to bring their own swimming towels. For peace and tranquility, this really is the ultimate place to unwind with family and friends. Manor House has Wifi suitable for streaming Netflix on one device, and suitable for multiple devices to surf the internet. SWIMMING Swimming in the pristine spring water lake on your doorstep, in the river and in stunning mountain pools. FOEFIE SLIDE Foefie slide (Zip line) – a real hit with moms, dads and kids! Awesome fun ending in the spring lake. WALKS Walks through glorious indigenous forest along the river to waterfalls and deep mountain pools. WATERSKIING & BOATING Waterskiing and boating on the Buffeljags Dam – bring your own boat, Somerset Gift is the first farm above the dam and 4km from the slipway. There is a minimal launching fee, please enquire when placing your booking. YOGA & PILATES Yoga and Pilates, we have a beautiful studio where guests can enjoy yoga and Pilates classes (additional fee – please enquire, subject to availability). CANOEING Canoeing in the lake and river, paddle down to the Buffeljags dam (4km each way). Canoes are available free of charge. KIDS FISHING Fishing for young kids – kiddie’s dam (bluegill and bream), your kids will haul them out! HIKING TRAILS Private hiking trails in the Langeberg Mountains to waterfalls and stunning mountain pools. MOUNTAIN BIKING Mountain biking trail to Grootkloof (8km return – technical), or a gentle ride on the numerous scenic farm roads. SUNSET CRUISES Sunset cruises on the picturesque Buffeljags Dam can be arranged (additional fee – please enquire when placing your booking). GOLF & OTHER Golf and other attractions – the farm is in easy reach of tourist attractions like Swellendam (golf course), Marloth Nature Reserve, Barrydale, Witsand, Bontebok National Park and De Hoop Nature Reserve. KIDDIE’S PLAYGROUND Kiddie’s playground with trampoline, swings and jungle gym and mini foefie slide. FISHING Fishing – Bass (small and largemouth) fishing in the lake and river for the more serious fisherman. BIRD WATCHING Bird watching – incredible birdlife including Fish Eagle, King Fisher, various Duck, Paradise Flycatcher, Buzzard and so much more. HORSE RIDING Horse riding can be arranged nearby (additional fee – please enquire when placing your booking). RESTAURANTS Restaurants, Swellendam has a multitude of restaurants, I can recommend the following: the Old Gaol is great for families with kids, Field and Fork for fine dining, La Sosta (Italian, fine dining), Tredicci, trendy chic, Woodpecker for pizzas. During your stay Your host will be Tania Other things to note There is water everywhere so if you have toddlers who cannot swim, please bring lifejackets. There is a fence around the large garden, so children are safe if they stay within the confines of the garden. The tap water is brown as it comes direct from the mountains (not the river) and is stained brown due to tannins found in the water. Bottled drinking water will be available for guests. The trustees of the farm take no responsibility of any injuring occurring to guests while using the facilities provided.
