Ghyllie Cottage

We are dog friendly! We are also child friendly! Ghyllie Cottage is a two bedroom, two bathroom cottage that is over 200 years old! Wetheral is just 3 miles from junction 42 on the M6 and the village has great amenities including a Village Shop and post office, Cafe, and a great pub just across the road! Wetheral Railway Station is a short walk from the cottage with regular trains to Carlisle and Newcastle. Easy access to Gretna Green, the Lake District, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The space Our cottage has been renovated to a high standard. Downstairs there is a big open plan kitchen diner with washing machine, dishwasher, oven and separate microwave. Plus a separate cosy lounge with an open fire (gas operated to make life easy!) And a downstairs loo. Stairs lead up to two spacious bedrooms both with ensuite bathrooms. There is a travel cot, high chair and a good selection of toys and games for you to use during your stay. We can provide sheets/mattress protectors for the travel cot but require you to bring your preferred choice of baby quilt or blankets etc. The cottage does not have a garden as such but we have provided a small safe enclosed patio area for dogs. This means you don't need to rush out in the morning or last thing at night with your dog or even if it's raining! The cottage is in a great village with loads of beautiful walks on the doorstep. The River Eden and Wetheral Woods are a short walk away (5mins) with lots of dedicated paths. Guest access Please make yourself at home in our cottage. There is a large cupboard in the kitchen where we keep our personal stuff but other than that please use whatever else you want. All we ask is that you respect our home as you would your own. Other things to note The cottage is approx 200 years old. There are steps leading up to the front door and stairs leading up to the bedrooms on the first floor.
