La Poterie - large studio in the heart of nature

Wild, secluded and with spectacular scenery, Alauzon is a collection of four rental properties plus our home on 12 hectares of land surrounded by hills and forests. The Poterie is a unique, spacious apartment ideal for 2 people but which can fit up to 5. Highlights are the stunning natural pool, a huge playground and walking and biking trails from your doorstep. The nearby village of Buis-les-Baronnies hosts a local market, restaurants, bars and year-round cultural activities. The space The Poterie is a spacious, duplex studio located next to The Bergerie (3 bedroom guesthouse). We have a total of four guesthouses on our property so you may meet some of our other guests by the pool or at the playground. A comfortable double bed (160x 200cm) is located up a set of stairs on the mezzanine level. There is also a spare single bed at floor level on the mezzanine. In the living area downstairs there is a sofa that converts into a double bed (140 x 200cm), a dining area, wood stove and kitchen area. The kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer, oven and stove top, microwave, toaster and coffee press. There is a separate large shower room, sink and toilet area. Outside you will find a large playground, shared outdoor kitchen and games area and our stunning natural swimming pond which is open from mid-May to mid-September. At Alauzon we aim to use our natural resources as efficiently as possible. - Our water comes from our well and heated using solar panels. The wastewater is treated on site with a plant filtration system. - The heating and hot water comes from the sun and a pellet boiler. - Food waste is composted and used on site. - We have photovoltaic panels to provide some of our electricity, including for a dedicated solar powered EV charger. Our guests love the panoramic views from the property which make you feel like you’re alone in the middle of wilderness. The property is on 13 hectares within the Parc Naturel Regional des Baronnies Provencal and entirely surrounded by the Foret Domanial des Baronnies. We are particularly well suited for families (large playground, no roads) and sporty types (hiking, mountain and road biking, climbing, via ferrata). The closest village of note is Buis les Baronnies (10kms, 20 minutes drive) away. Guest access In addition to being our home, we have four rental properties to accomodate up to 26 people. You can hire all 4 properties or just the one(s) that suit(s) you. All outdoor spaces (outdoor kitchen, pool, playground and other games areas) are shared by our guests. Each property has its own entrance. Other things to note The water from our well is filtered but is not classed as drinking water. Please bring bottled water for drinking. Cooking, washing, brushing teeth, etc. is fine. A headtorch is very useful here as it gets very dark at night! Double check that your sat nav itinerary takes you to Buis les Baronnies and through Les Sias (we recommend setting this as a waypoint). Other itineraries may not be suitable for normal vehicles. You will need to drive up a gravel track for 1km. This is suitable for most cars- just drive slowly on the bumps. Registration Details 2018-02
