Description
Ygeia, an authentic family house on the left bank of the Dordogne River The stone house is situated in the charming little village of Flaujagues in the “Entre-deux-Mers” region. St Emilion and it’s famous vineyards are a mere 20 kms away. The large garden is lovely with its trees and rose bushes, fully enclosed with stone walls. The terrace overlooks the ever-changing Dordogne river. The space The house is perfect for a wonderful vacation, very comfortable and relaxing with many activities available in the area. Sports (tennis, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, golf, biking, hiking, etc) but also cultural activities, tourism, wine tasting, etc.. Guest access The bedrooms Up the spectacular stone stairway are 3 bedrooms open onto the river. The Red Room has a private Italian shower and WC. The "Blue room" faces east over the river, has a double bed and private shower and sink. The morning sun streams. The "Redroom" also faces east over the river, but has a private Italian shower and WC..The "Yellow room" faces south, with a river and rose garden view. There is a king size bed (160cm). During your stay We offer personalized services. You choose what you would like to do, the duration of your stay, and we plan the vacation with you. Some of the propositions are: Come visit the vineyards, wine tasting and gourmet dining. Cooking classes with Jean-Marc, buy the produce at the local market, learn how to make local dishes. You can decide what dishes you would like to learn. Visit the sites, from the Atlantic coast to the hills of Sarlat. Bike trip, we drop you off in the morning and you bike back to the house, each day a different location. Canoe/kayak trip, we drop you off and you lazily paddle down the river to the house. Hiking trips, we hike with you (or not!). Other things to note The south west is a gourmet region of France, the restaurants range from the Hostellerie de Plaisance in St Emilion with its starred chef to La Puce, a restaurant for the local vineyard workers. An amazing diversity of tastes, from a side a beef to la Lamproie (a local fish), from pigeon to oysters from Arguin. The choice is yours and we will be pleased to point you in the right direction.
