The Weir House is set amidst tree tops, with views of a green hillside and the sound of the flowing stream below. We grow cinnamon, pepper, cloves and coffee on our 10 acre property and offer guests the opportunity to learn how the spices are grown. The Weir is located in a picturesque Sri Lankan village yet is still close enough to Kandy to enable access to many of the region's popular tourist attractions. The space The Weir House was originally built as a private holiday home which we now operate as a boutique villa. The personalised service we offer enables you to feel that you are staying in a home away from home. The Weir House has 5 rooms which can sleep a total of 12 people. There are FIVE rooms that can accommodate 2 people in each and a family room that can sleep 4 people. Each room can be booked separately. Pepper Room - 2 pax, King sized bed, air-conditioned and attached bathroom Clove Room - 2 pax, King sized bed, air-conditioned and attached bathroom Cinnamon Room - 2 pax, King sized bed and attached bathroom Saffron Room - 2 pax, King sized bed and attached bathroom Coffee Room - 4 pax, 2 King sized beds, air-conditioned and attached bathroom Guest access The Weir House is situated in the village of Ulapane on a 10 acre property. We are very centrally located enabling you to make the most of highlights of the Central Hills. Given below is an idea of the time it takes to access many of the regions tourist spots: Peradeniya - for its botanical gardens - 30 minutes Kandy - for the revered Temple of the Tooth - 45 minutes Adam's Peak - for an exhilarating night time mountain climb and super sunrise - 45 minutes Kitulgala - for hikes and river rapids - 1 hour Nuwara Eliya - for a piece of Old England and tea plantations - 2.5 hours We are a popular destination for families, honeymooners and groups of friends. Breakfast at the Weir House is a choice of western style omelettes or pancakes, or Sri Lankan rotis or hoppers. Dinner is usually a three-course meal that blends eastern and western elements. If you wish to stay in for lunch – then our classic Sri Lankan rice and curry should not be missed. Within the Weir House we have common spaces for all guests to use. A large living room with a large flat screen tv, with access to many international cable channels, a dvd player along with a library of books and dvds. Guests have the option of dining in our french window lined dining room or out on the verandah or garden. The estate has walking paths and our manager will be happy to take you through the estate to show you how the different spices are grown and offer you a history of the spice trade in Sri Lanka. During your stay The Weir House has five staff members including a manager who is conversant in English, an enthusiastic cook and two accommodating house assistants.
