Description
Brand new listing! You’ll be relaxed & inspired in this gorgeous, well-maintained, mid-mod-inspired home w/ incredible, 180° views of the hills of Marin County. Mt. Tamalpais and the hills to the west keep the San Francisco fog at bay, providing you with sunshine and warmth when other parts of the Bay Area are cold, windy, and foggy. Lounge on one of the decks or patio watching the clouds float by or make a memorable feast in our large, gourmet kitchen. Nature and light pour into every room. The space You'll be in the heart of Marin County, the perfect location between San Francisco, Wine Country and the Pacific Coast. Pick a lemon from our tree and sip a cocktail by the waterfall. Early morning or after the sun goes down, pick one of our 3 fireplaces and snuggle up with a good book. Our spacious home is clean, uncluttered, airy and bathed in sunlight. We have Wi-Fi and a Sonos wireless music system with access to any music that suits your mood, wherever you want it. There are hardwood floors throughout most of the house; and the bedrooms are all carpeted. Two of the four bedrooms are outfitted as quiet, comfortable offices, one with a couch that unfolds into a full-size bed for overnight guests or kids. The entire property is fenced so children can run around safely. Our house is located in the Rafael Highlands neighborhood of San Rafael, right between San Francisco, Wine Country, and the Pacific Coast. World-class hiking and mountain biking trails can be reached without getting into your car. On sleeping arrangements: There are 4 bedrooms/offices. The master bedroom has one king-size bed. The children's bedroom has one full-size bed. The guest room/office has one full-size fold-out bed. The larger office will accommodate our comfortable, queen-size blow-up mattress. Though the house will accommodate 6 adults comfortably, more kids can be accommodated with our full-size blow up mattress and couches. Children are welcome. The Golden Gate Bridge is 20-minutes to the South, wine country 20-minutes to the North, and countless beaches about 30-minutes to the West. 40-minutes to the Northwest is the Point Reyes National Seashore. One of our favorite activities is to go wine tasting among the world-class vineyards in Sonoma, followed by fresh oysters from Tomales Bay while enjoying a fiery sunset on the coast. Charming downtown 4th Street, San Rafael offers restaurants, shopping and art galleries. Walk right from the house to a vast network of hiking and mountain biking trails on the ridges of the beautiful Sleepy Hollow Northern Preserve. These are the trails where mountain biking was created in the 1970’s. Keep your eyes peeled: You might be lucky enough to come across deer, rabbits, coyotes, nesting owls and the occasional bobcat. Longer drives include visits to: Lake Tahoe and Yosemite to the East, Mendocino, the Redwoods, and the Lost Coast to the North; and of course Santa Cruz, Carmel, Monterey, and Big Sur to the south. Past guests have all been thrilled with their stay in our beautiful home.
