Fab 6 bedroom 18th century property with large garden and ample car park. Explore The Mendip Hills, Bristol, Bath, Cheddar, Glastonbury and Wells, local lakes and beaches. Mountain bike trails and country walks. Sleeps 12-14 with big party dining table, lounge with wood burner and large sofas, 5/7 seater hot tub and large Gas BBQ (both as optional extras ) 14 seater table. Ground floor bedroom with basin and WC, no steps from front door. 7 pubs within walking distance 24hr mini supermarket. The space Ideal for family and friends gatherings, Christmas, New Year or Birthday celebrations, girly get togethers or a lads catch up. There are 6 bedrooms and the property sleeps or 12- 13 persons without having to share a bed. Plenty of space throughout this Somerset holiday home. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor with a basin and WC. No steps from the parking at the front of the property, throughout the ground floor. Further gated parking at rear. The Mendip Gate is settled at the foot of The Mendip Hills AONB. With mountain bike trails and lovely countryside walks. Lots of pubs within walking distance including the award winning Crown Inn just up the road. Several quality golf courses within a few miles, plenty of lakes, reservoirs and beaches for water sports and even a dry ski slope. At the front there is limited parking and the entrance porch, which has an array of umbrellas for those wet walks to the pub and leads to the key coded front door. Inside you will find the stairs to the first floor bedrooms and the hallway leading on the right to the main lounge area to the rear of the house and the kitchen. The Mendip Gate has a fully equipped kitchen with original 18th century flagstone floor, dishwasher, double oven and grill, large hob and fridge freezer, wine fridge, coffee pod machine and microwave. Extra work top space a second sink, fridge and microwave are available in the utility but please note the cupboards and their contents in this room are not for guest use. The lobby with its crockery cupboard leads to the downstairs twin bedroom and WC on one side and the dining room on the other. The dining room has a large 14 seater table and a Welsh dresser containing ample glasses and cutlery. French doors lead out to the optional HotTub courtyard (Rental fee applies, with towels and robes provided ). On into the lounge area with its comfy sofas wood burning stove for those winter nights a large 4K smart tv inc Netflix and Amazon prime and a PlayStation 4 console. Old school HiFi with vinyl turntable, Sonos speakers and a karaoke system. Upstairs you will find five twin bedrooms ( some can be made up as superkings on request ) three are en-suite with the others sharing a large bathroom with double size shower and slipper bath a further WC is across the landing. Outside the back door you will find recycling bins and the wood store. A large 14 seater outdoor table is perfect for the warmer months with a charcoal BBQ supplied ( you will need to supply charcoal and clean this yourself after use ) a large 6 burner Gas BBQ or a paella burner with pans big enough to feed up to 14 are optional extras but include gas and cleaning. The car park has plenty of space and the pretty garden beyond has apple trees and a lawn. Sorry, no ball games in the garden but there is a park and playing field 400 yards away. Sorry no pets and please do not use Chinese lanterns or fireworks. There are two pubs a short walk away, two a medium walk and a further three a longish walk. Pop into the car and you will find the Thatchers cider owned pub “The Railway” and several Butcombe Brewery owned pubs such as the Ring of Bells at Compton Martin and the fabulous Queen Vic at Priddy. Touts mini supermarket (400 yards) is open 24 hours 364 days and has a great selection of wines and beers as well as quality ready meals, fresh milk and bakery produce, local meat and also a Subway. There is a small cafe just up the road and a short drive finds Lillypool cafe for breakfast and lunch. Guest access Set up for 13 guests the accommodation comprises five first floor twin bedrooms and one ground floor twin bedroom. One room comprises a small double and a single and another can be a triple. Please enquire, if extra child beds required. Three rooms are en-suite while the others share a large bathroom and small WC with an additional WC connected to the ground floor bedroom. A fully equipped kitchen with original 18th century flagstone floor with extra work top space, second sink and fridge in the utility but please note utility cupboards and contents are not for guest use! The lobby has a crockery cupboard and leads to the downstairs bedroom and WC and to the dining room which has a large table for up to 14 with a Welsh dresser for glasses and cutlery. French doors lead to the hot tub area ( available as an optional extra ) A spacious lounge area connects to the dining room comprising a 49" 4k Smart TV with Netflix and Prime capability, cosy wood burner for winter nights, and comfy sofas. Entrance porch for wellington boot storage and ample Umbrellas for those wet walks to the pub. The ample car park is accessed via wooden gates to the left of the house and leads onto the garden. A large 14 seater outdoor table and wood fired heater, recycling bins and wood store.
