The treehouse retreat is surrounded by a redwood and oak forest, a nearby stream, and sauna. Gaze through any of the large, light-filled windows encircling a full kitchen with sink, microwave, electric stove top, toaster oven, and mini fridge, a mid-century living room area, maple dining table that converts into ample workspace. Relax in the deep Japanese tub to wind down. Lightworks Treehouse is surrounded by redwoods, oaks, and bay laurels that beckon you to explore the sacred forest and its surrounding environs. It is a haven to the hustle and bustle of city life, while remaining only a 20 minute drive to the city via the Golden Gate Bridge. Weary travelers can rest in this calm and quiet treetop oasis, meditate in the steam sauna, or soak in the Japanese tub while while the avid naturalist can take refuge in the many-faceted wonders just steps from the treehouse door. Enjoy movies from the bedroom nook or cozy up on the sofa to veg out to your favorite show or lose yourself in journaling or reading as you fall into an easy flow state free of distractions. The kitchen is fully equipped with the basics to be able to cook at home, but there is not a full oven with a stove. Instead, we have an electric range stove top, a toaster oven, and a microwave. There is also a mini fridge, a regular toaster, a coffee maker, an electric tea pot, and a water jug filled with clean water to drink. The kitchen sink also has a hand dishwashing station set up within it. There is a dining table that can sub as a work area, and the bathroom has a wonderful Japanese soaking tub as well as a shower head mounted to the wall for a shower. We have installed a handrail and an extra stepping stool to assist you in climbing out of the tub if that presents a problem for guests needing extra help. The bathtub is also able to accommodate little ones as it has a place to sit at the bottom of the tub for the safety of a shallower tub if needed. To reach the treehouse, guests have to climb about 10 stairs, with a landing halfway up. There are electric car charging stations on the property as well as a washer and dryer for your use. Guests can also use all trails leading from behind the Treehouse which are an easy hike to the ridge of Mt. Tamalpais, as well as full use of the trampoline, basketball net, and steam sauna in the contemplative garden just behind the treehouse. The woods in back of the treehouse are equipped with hanging rope swings. Hiking trails in our backyard lead up to the top of Mt. Tamalpais, and if desired, into Muir Woods National Monument, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and about a 45-minute drive to Stinson Beach, Bolinas, and on into Point Reyes National Seashore. To note: the driveway is steep, and there is parking for one car next to the Treehouse sign, located on the side of the driveway. The parking immediately to the left of the garage is for the main house. If you have luggage to unload, feel free to use the turnaround spot next to the treehouse entrance before parking in the designated spot. To note: we have 2 pet limit at this time. Parking for this apartment is located to the left of the garage and the driveway on an uphill. There is also plenty of street parking below the driveway as well. We love our guests but also want to give them the privacy they need. Please feel free to come over to the main house for a visit or coffee on the deck! Choice location with instant access to backyard trails on Mnt Tam. 5 minutes to downtown MV by car, or 15 minutes by foot to Miller Ave and Whole Foods, 15 mins by car to bridge. 20-25 minutes to dog-friendly world-class beaches, and 20 minutes into San Francisco via the Golden Gate Bridge. There is something for everybody at this Mill Valley oasis. Renting bikes for sight seeing in Mill Valley is always a great way to see the town. Hiking all over Mt Tamalpais, which the Treehouse is situated upon, is a must do while here.
