Utter peace and quiet? Your boathouse on a canal in the Dutch countryside awaits. A cozy place on the water with a wood stove, super-clean and comfortable beds and a rowboat out front. Your breakfast is brought to you in the boathouse each morning. Toilet and shower for guests' exclusive use are in the main house - not in the boathouse – a distance of 20 m away through the garden. Location: a 30-minute drive from Amsterdam or Alkmaar, 15 minutes from Hoorn. The space Your boathouse on a canal in the Dutch countryside awaits. A cozy place on the water with a wood stove, super-clean and comfortable beds and a rowboat out front. No bells or whistles, just silence and long views out over the water and the polder. Furnishing: Simple/primitive. Two single beds, Wi-Fi, heating via electrical panels and/or woodstove. Toilet and shower for guests' exclusive use are in the main house - not in the boathouse – a distance of 20 m away through the garden. Welcome: Olga will welcome you to Oudendijk at the former "Alms House", show you around, and take you to the little boathouse. You won't be bothered otherwise during your stay… unless Cooper the beagle or Marley the cat peeks around the corner. We live next door in the poorhouse and remain available, of course, but invisible. Breakfast: brought to you in the boathouse each morning. Bread, jam, Verdegaal cheese and butter. Yogurt and fresh fruit. Orange juice and an egg from our chicken if you wish. You have your own Nespresso coffee and leaf-tea in the boathouse. The boathouse has no kitchen or cooking facilities. Fortunately there are many terrific places to eat nearby. Please note: the boathouse is not (yet) wheelchair accessible. No smoking indoors.
