Guesthouse in Taos
Description
The best views in Taos--mountains all around. A truly private and impossibly romantic getaway. Traditional adobe casita with vigas and latillas, on a paved road, at the edge of the mesa overlooking town. Only three miles to the Plaza, easy access to Taos Ski Valley, the Rio Grande Gorge, Ranchos, and the road to Santa Fe. Speedy fiber optic internet for digital nomads. Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. We offer a great experience--just look at all the wonderful reviews by our awesome guests! The space The traditionally styled portal, with hand-made columns, welcomes you to the casita. Inside, our guests are greeted with traditional vigas, latillas, and a Saltillo tile floor warmed by radiant heat. A kiva-style fireplace, while non-functional, completes the ambiance of the spacious room. Radiant floor heat will keep you toasty warm in winter. The kitchenette includes a microwave, bar sink, small refrigerator, toaster oven, and a Keurig coffeemaker. For longer stays, we can provide an induction cooktop and pans. The bathroom features a small clawfoot tub with very high sides and an overhead shower, as well as a colorful New Mexico-style sink. Because many guests are yoga practitioners, we keep two yoga mats in the closet for impromptu sun salutations. Guest access The entire casita is yours for the stay. Other things to note The road to our place is fully paved and maintained year round--very convenient in winter and during mud season. Should it snow, there's an ice scraper hanging in the closet. Because we live in the high desert, with frequent windy and dry periods, and because our insurance company forbids it, we ask that you not use any kind of open flame inside or outside the casita. We cannot accommodate groups, weddings, or special events.
