With the Air Dwelling, we have taken our first flight off the ground on natural buildings. Conceptualised as a dwelling that is floating in the air, it is projected out amongst the trees. Travel down a nostalgic memory lane & reminisce the times spent on your grandparent’s secret attic. This hut has a mezzanine floor with stairs that invite children to climb up & cook up a new adventure in the forest or for loving couples to just lay back, stare at the floating clouds and the glittering stars. The space Our place is part of a forest garden project where we are trying to revive a neglected acre of land into a forest that's bursting with life. So even though you are connected to the highway, you would get to experience the joy of being amidst brooding trees, chirping birds and gurgling rivers. You can find your own solitude-spot in the forest or mingle with backpackers and travellers from across the world and share experiences and travel stories. The earth house opens to our private rivulet and is surrounded by cardamom plantation and old forest trees. Guest access Guests are welcome to explore all nooks and corners of our forest garden. They can search and discover our TIEEDI waterfall or bask in the sunlight under a large canopy of magnolia trees or dip their toes in the gurgling mountain river. During your stay Having lived the life of a backpacker ourselves, we would be able to recommend the best places to visit in Darjeeling for viewing tourist places and also the secret offbeat destinations in and around Darjeeling (and also to other backpacker hotspots in India). We also love having a conversation with our guests about trekking, mountaineering and travel in general. Other things to note Let’s talk food ! We love food and we will serve you the tastiest of the local delicacies that either our organically grown in our vegetable gardens or sourced from local organic farmers. The meal charges are not included in the stay. We have a flat service charge of Rs 300/- per meal for room service. We have quite a few cafes right outside the property. Feel free to try them out. On the way to the rooms ! Please note that the house is connected to the motorable road by a stone-paved pathway through our private forest. It is a 5 minutes hike from the main road. We will take care of transporting your luggage, however we expect you to be fit enough to be able to walk this trail to the dwelling. We are plastic-free 😊 We are on a quest to create a plastic free environment, hence the guest would be requested to use only the designated trash bins for disposing their organic and inorganic waste. Volunteer with us if you feel like! We have quite a few projects on-going within the property - we would be happy to have you volunteer with us if it aligns with your interests too :)
