MidCentury Desert Escape
Description
Welcome to Jackrabbit Hideaway. This well-preserved 1950s homestead sits on 2.5 secluded acres in the desert to the west of Twentynine Palms. The property is 15 minutes from the Joshua Tree National Park north entrance. You feel away from it all, but are convenient to all the local amenities. The house is comfortable and full of desert character and perfect for relaxing before and after exploring the park. Oh, and the stars are amazing! The space We have one master bedroom and a bonus bedroom in a sunny alcove in the front of the house. The house comfortably sleeps up to two couples. A cozy living room features a fireplace to take the nip off the chilly nights. Eat breakfast under the shade of the pepper tree and you might spot jackrabbits, coyotes, roadrunners and quail. On the back patio we have a mid-century outdoor fireplace to help you stay warm while relaxing under starry skies and shooting stars (seriously, lots of shooting stars). We have an outdoor clawfoot bathtub for a relaxing soak. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway, artist/writer’s retreat or an adventure weekend in the park. Guest access Check in is 4pm and check out is 11am. If we don't have back to back guests we can be flexible with these times. The house and the property are yours to roam freely. The barn is not yet finished inside and therefore not accessible to guests for safety reasons. Other things to note This is a wild, desert area. In addition to the cuddly critters, there are spiders, snakes, lizards and other not so cuddly creatures. We recommend keeping doors closed at all times to minimize the possibility of unwanted intruders. We will do everything we can to make sure there are no spiders or scorpions in the bathtub, but they do like the water so please look before you take a shower! On the property there are cacti and other prickly plants you definitely want avoid stepping on or brushing against. A close encounter with a jumping cholla cactus is one you would likely never forget! Registration Details VHR015
