700 m to Grotto Beach: Bird Rock Cottage, Hermanus

Just 700 metres to Grotto  Beach, and a pebble’s throw from Hermanus' popular Voëlklip and Nannies’ Beaches, Bird Rock Cottage welcomes you into its easy-going lifestyle. Open-plan living makes for a relaxed indoor-outdoor flow, and the sheltered garden is a lush, tranquil retreat. The kitchen is well equipped, with a microwave oven and 2-zone induction stove. There is no conventional oven. Uncapped 30 Mbps fibre wifi is available. No TV. The space Bird Rock Cottage is perfectly affordable for a weekend getaway or longer stay. Ideal for a couple or two-child family. (The cottage sleeps a maximum of 4.) The spacious main bedroom spans the entire top floor. More than a place for sleeping, this is often the preferred living/playing area, with a comfortable lounge area and work surfaces at counter height. Uncapped fibre wifi is freely available. The sound of the sea is a constant backtrack. The picture windows in two walls offer limited views as far as Hermanus’ old fishing harbour. Downstairs, a sleeping alcove in the open-plan living area has a single bed. Also in this open-plan living space is a sleeper couch. It is narrower than a full-size single bed, but comfortable for a child. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, two-plate stove, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, coffee plunger, and ample cutlery, crockery and glassware. The bedroom is on the ground level. Bath towels and linen are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.  Please bring firewood, charcoal or briquettes if you'd like to braai on the patio braai on wheels. Guest access The entire townhouse-like cottage and the inter-leading single garage. Accessibility: The main bedroom (with a double bed) is upstairs; the bathroom is downstairs. While the stairs have been designed for ease of use, with a very gentle slope and generous treads, they may be challenging for people who have special mobility needs or who are frail. The driveway is shared with the tenants who live in the attached main house. They will never park in the driveway, as they have their own parking spot off the driveway, to ensure our cottage guests have unrestricted access and parking. Please park close to the garage door so that the tenants can manoeuvre their car in and out of their parking area. Other things to note Please bring your own beach towels. Off-street parking in the driveway, behind a sliding security gate. If the host cannot be there to welcome you on arrival, the key and remote for the sliding gate will be in the key safe (lock box), at the gate. You will receive a unique code for the safe beforehand.
