OB BOHO Getaway /OCEAN VIEWS/ Big Deck +Tiki Patio

Our cute little home is nestled uphill on iconic Newport Ave, Ocean Beach (OB) with amazing elevated views of the ocean, Mission Bay, Pacific Beach up to Birdrock & Mt Solidad. The sunsets views are sublime - and once it's down watch the distant lights twinkle! Only a short stroll down to the main part of town, but you're far enough above the rat-race to enjoy a surprising amount of peace n quiet. There are 2 great outdoor areas to enjoy, including a private back patio turned tiki oasis. The space Our home is perched up above Ocean Beach, just 2 blocks from the shops and less than a 10 minute stroll down to the sand and pier along Newport Avenue (4 blocks to beach). Photos don't quite do justice to just how great the views are, you won't be dissapointed! The amazing outdoor areas - a large deck on the front, plus a partially covered and privately fenced 'tiki' patio out the back - almost triple the useable space of this cute 1 bedder. Both have tables and chairs, extra benches or armchairs, and awesome ocean views. There is a bbq/grill for your use on the front deck. Between the two areas you will catch all the precious sun you need at various times of the day no matter the time of year. Just be aware that the main deck borders the back yard of the front house, where their dog sometimes spends time. You are separated by wooden screens and a 4 ft drop down to their level, so he'll never be in your face but does bark at strangers. The neighbors are good at bringing him in if he's making a noise. The apartment itself was freshly remodeled 5 years ago with a new kitchen, tiled flooring, new windows, deck and paint inside out. Bathroom was also redone with a new vanity unit, toilet, shelving and shower-head (bath tub and tiles are still original). The kitchen is small but perfect for a couple and comes fully equipped with all that you need: ~ 4 burner gas cooktop and oven ~ coffee grinder and pour-over coffee pot ~ blender ~ large fridge ~ microwave and any day to day cleaning products. Lounge room has extra comforts such as: ~ NO T.V. (internet is great for streaming Netflix etc. on your laptop or tablet) ~ bluetooth speakers ~ record player and small vinyl selection ~ 3 speed ceiling fan ~ Reverse cycle A/C for heating and cooling You will be sleeping on a 3 year old Queen sized memory foam mattress. It is soft yet supportive, like sleeping on a cloud! ~ We will supply you with pairs of different pillows of varied thickness Bedroom is separated from the living area by a colorful curtain (no door attached). It also has a back door which opens directly onto the private back patio area. Be aware that some noise from the unit above can be heard at times, such as plumbing sounds through the wall or heavy footsteps on the floor. Our guests above are asked to be respectful of this, remove their shoes while inside and not use washer/dryer after 10pm. Excessive noise is not allowed and we take care in selecting people who understand it is not for large groups, parties or loud activities. Feel free to let us know if someone is not respecting the rules. Although we’re not right by the airport you can hear plane noise from 6:00am-11:00 pm as the flight path goes overhead - unavoidable in OB unfortunately. There is no washer dryer, but a coin operated laundry is located only 3 blocks away. Guest access You'll have the entire ground floor apartment to yourself, including a secluded back patio partially undercover with wood dining table. The front deck with amazing views is all yours to enjoy as well, but it also borders the front house's yard (where dog sometimes is). Apartment is located at the back of the block, accessible up a flight of stairs from street level, but if you have heavy bags you can walk straight in from the alley access (drop off only, no parking). Free street parking is available by the property on Newport Ave. and you rarely need to park far from the letterboxes. Just make sure to turn wheels against the curb to avoid being fined as it is on a hill. Other things to note NO T.V. !!! We like to enjoy the simpler things... There are many fun things to do which are quite close to our home. Some of these are listed below: Seaworld 4 miles San Diego Zoo 9 miles San Diego Zoo Safari Park 40 miles Lego Land 36 miles Farmers Market - 4 blocks away every Wednesday Balboa Park (7 miles) – beautiful historic park in the heart of San Diego with museums, flower gardens, and historic Spanish-style architecture. Gas Lamp District 9 miles– historic district in the heart of downtown. Lots of restaurants, bars, and nightlife. Old Town 5 miles– the original center of San Diego. Boutique shopping and restaurants. Mission Valley 7 miles– shopping malls and movie theaters. La Jolla 9 miles – a beautiful city with a rugged coastline. High-end boutique shopping in the downtown. Mission Bay Park 5 miles– a playground for everyone. Bike riding, running, water sports, sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, picnicking, radio controlled sailboats. Belmont Park 4 miles- A small amusement park with rides and games. We are near the airport and you can hear plane noise from 6:00am-11:00 pm.
