An automated security gate opens onto a large driveway with space for park 3 cars, and outside the gate the Ferndell entrance to Griffith Park is a 3-minute walk, a gourmet grocery store a 5-minute walk, and the Hollywood/Western Metro station a 10-minute walk. Downstairs the home has a warm, inviting southern California indoor-outdoor feel, with roomy patios to the back and side of the house, and a large backyard with a lush tropical garden. The family room has a Smart TV with basic cable and access to all streaming services, and a sunny breakfast nook. The laundry room has a modern washer dryer and french doors that open onto a outdoor dining setup with a gas grill. Upstairs the master suite has a queen-sized bed, Smart TV, ensuite bathroom with built-in bathtub with shower, walk-in closet, and large balcony with a table and chairs. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed and reading nook and the third bedroom has twin beds and an antique desk. The second full bathroom has a built-in bathtub with shower. You have complete and exclusive access to the entire house, patios, and garden (the basement is unused and kept locked). The automated security gate and driveway are shared with the guest house in the back of the property, but you have a separate parking area for up to 3 cars. It has a vibrant cultural scene, historic architecture, and trendy restaurants, cafes, and shops. Griffith Park, one of the largest city parks in the US, is the jewel of the neighborhood with numerous hiking and walking trails, the iconic Griffith Observatory, and the Hollywood Sign. The property is next to the American Film Institute and near Thai Town, and the Hollywood Bowl, Dodger Stadium, and other attractions are a short drive away. Both the Metro and bus stations are within a 5 minute walk This home offers privacy and peace of mind. Although Western Avenue is a busy city street the property feels secluded because it is surrounded by tall trees, and the house has thick walls courtesy of its 1923 construction. All bedrooms in the main house have blackout curtains and Roman shades. You will get one remote for the automated security gate that guards the driveway. There are remote-access security cameras, and you can turn on an optional security system - this requires payment of an additional $500 alarm deposit fee. The house has numerous smoke and carbon monoxide alarms that are tested regularly. We will offer one cleaning during your stay at no charge, and you can request additional cleanings for $200 each. LA County recycling programs require separation of paper and plastics. The entrances are on patios with a few steps to the driveway, and the bedrooms are on the second floor reached by the staircase.
