a lovely, self-contained building, overlooking the garden at Broughton House. Well equipped kitchen, sitting room, sunny verandah, double bedroom, shower room - do your own cooking, or dine out in Cartmel. Dogs are welcome so long as they don't sleep on the bed The space The Garden House is the perfect base for two to spend a few days exploring this quieter part of the southern Lake District. There is an open plan living area, featuring a compact kitchen equipped with a fan oven, and hob, a fridge, a microwave, a Dualit toaster, and a kettle. Emma Bridgewater crockery, adds a homely touch, and you should find everything you need to prepare and cook food in the kitchen. I provide some milk, eggs from my hens, tea, coffee, sugar, and home-made brownies and shortbread. A small dining area to the rear gives views north up the Cartmel valley, and a sunny verandah, with a gas BBQ., at the front looks over the garden. Throw open the double doors and let the sun in in the summer, or cosy up by the electric log fire, and watch TV in the winter. The bedroom has a standard double bed, and the en-suite shower room has a 2m shower. There is room for a travel cot, if required, and dogs are welcome so long as they don't sleep on the bed Guest access Guests are welcome to explore the garden at Broughton House.
