Description
The Hayloft has been turned into a light and airy flat above our stables. We live next to a path which takes you north to the Ochils or south to the beautiful Gartmore Water: perfect if you are a walker or a cyclist. The nearby village of Dollar has a castle, cafes, a pub and a restaurant. We are 40 minutes from Edinburgh airport, 25 minutes from Gleneagles Hotel, 20 minutes from Stirling and an hour from the centre of both Edinburgh and Glasgow. The space To enter the Hayloft you need to climb a spiral staircase up from our tack room. When you enter the flat there is a hall, with the bathroom off to the left. Beyond the hall there is a large living space with kitchen and sofas. And beyond the living space is the bedroom. The stables below the Hayloft are occasionally occupied by horses or ponies. Guest access In order to access The Hayloft you need to climb the spiral staircase. The Hayloft is therefore unsuitable for people living with certain disabilities. If you have large luggage we suggest you store it in the tack room, rather than trying to take it up the spiral staircase. In case of an emergency which prevents usage of the spiral staircase there is a second exit. This involves setting up a flexible ladder (stored in the chest of drawers in the bedroom) and leaving the flat via the french window in the bedroom. Other things to note In order to access The Hayloft you need to climb the spiral staircase. We do not encourage guests with children to stay in the Hayloft because of the wood-burning stove in the living space. There is a fire risk from the wood-burning stove in the living space. We ask guests to ensure that they do not leave anything close to the wood-burning stove when it is lit. (There is a tumble dryer for drying clothes at the top of the spiral staircase.) You are welcome to use the tennis court (we can provide rackets and balls), or to walk in the woods which form part of our garden.
