Beautiful 5-bed barn, countryside & Devon beaches

The Shire is a beautiful spacious barn, ideal for extended families or small groups. Due to late cancellations a couple of dates are available this summer! Open plan living, large bedrooms, lovely gardens for dining or kids play. Community facilities: tennis court, firepit and duck pond. Set in beautiful countryside with stunning beaches, surf and watersports; incredible wild country like Dartmoor; and beautiful historic towns like Totnes and Dartmouth, all a short drive (10-20 minutes) away. The space Drive off the road to our home, the Shire, set in the beautiful small collection of houses, made from the former barns of the Fallapit Estate. Listen at night for owls and look out for bats! The Shire, as bifits its name, is part built into a slope. What looks like a cute stone cottage from the outside opens into a considerably larger space inside, that is gradually shifting towards being fully eco-powered. The garden doesn't really stop at our rather generous private garden however - we share the communal wider gardens and area of Fallapit with our neighbours. Beyond those gardens, Fallapit estate with its lake to the barn side falls one way, whilst open countryside, fields, lanes and walkways lie in the other directions. This is a place to let the rest of the world be. There is a nice pub in the village of East Allington which you can approach by a lovely walk (about 1m). If you want to go further afield, we are set within what we believe to be one of the most beautiful and magical places in the world, both for its interesting and varied coast and its interesting and varied countryside. An unusual feature for somewhere quite so rural is all the culture and arts, both in this part of Devon and a little further afield in Cornwall. Whether it's dancing all night, contemporary dance, classical music, theatre or alternative living - you can find it all (and much more besides) nearby.
