Villa Evangelini is a wonderful, aristocratic 19th Century 4 Bedroom Neo-Classical villa, with private pool, which nestles among extensive, private gardens, orchards and olive groves in the exclusive area of Poseidonia on lovely Syros. This coral pink house with pale grey shutters sleeps up to 9 guests. The additional charming guest houses in the gardens sleep a further 6 guests. Lovingly restored to keep many of it’s original features, Evangelini has been featured in the international media. The house has been lovingly restored by its owners with antique furniture and vintage carpets and is both stylish and bohemian. The full size private pool is surrounded by bamboo fencing to add to the feeling of complete seclusion and luxury. In addition, the three gloriously bohemian guest houses accommodate a further 6 guests which allows a total of 15 guests! The elegant drawing room with seating for 9 has marble floors, antique furniture and many objets d’art. Shuttered windows look across the extensive gardens. The farmhouse kitchen with marble tiled floor, painted walls and local crockery is the hub of the house and leads onto the gardens. Air conditioning keeps the house cool in the summer. The 3 upstairs bedrooms are all individual with their fresh fabrics and serene colours. The master bedroom with 4 poster bed and additional single bed has French windows onto the balcony with views to the pretty Church. The antique furniture contrasts with the crisp white bed linen. This is the perfect spot for a morning coffee enjoying the tranquil views across the gardens towards the surrounding hills. Bedroom Three with its pale blue walls and nautical prints has twin beds and a high pitched wooden ceiling. French windows lead onto the second balcony with views across the gardens. Bedroom Four (The Indian Room) is furnished with original prints and wall hangings and also leads to the balcony. All bedrooms have air conditioning and each has an en-suite bathroom. The guest houses in the garden has their own little garden area and offers accommodation for a further 6 guests. The guest houses have their own facilities. The entrance to the house is via a large gate and is walled on all sides making it safe for young children. The large veranda to the front of the house (the BBQ even has an electric roasting spit) is where you will probably dine during the summer months. A path leads to the pool area via the orchard with oranges, lemons, vines, pomegranates, dates and bay trees. Guest access The gardens are a delight throughout the seasons with shaded corners, vine covered pergolas and splashes of colour from the clematis and bougainvillea. The large veranda to the front of the house (the BBQ even has an electric roasting spit) is where you will probably dine during the summer months. A gigantic thick slab of marble makes up the dining table with seating for up to 15 guests. A path leads to the pool area through the orchard with oranges, lemons, grapes (the owner makes his own wine), pomegranates, dates and bay trees. There are sun loungers with cream cushions and all in the shade of 2 magnificent palm trees to watch over you. There are shaded corners with occasional furniture dotted around for you to escape with a book or watch the spectacular bird life.
