Le Moulin de Verrines. (6 people-pool)

Description

Come and discover the Moulin de Verrines, a fully restored 19th-century building nestled in the heart of the Creuse countryside. In a green and peaceful environment, this fully equipped cottage comfortably accommodates 4 to 6 guests. Enjoy the swimming pool, open from mid-May, fiber optic internet, and linens provided: sheets and towels. Some dates appear blocked: please don't hesitate to contact us if you are interested in them. The space The Gîte du Moulin de Verrines is in a particularly quiet environment, with no immediate outside neighbors. Surrounded by unspoiled and authentic nature, it offers a true haven of peace to relax and fully enjoy the Creuse countryside. The cottage is adjoining our house, but it has its own spaces, and you will be completely independent and autonomous there. Le Moulin is our residence: we stay there regularly, while being careful to remain discreet and to preserve your peace and quiet. The pool is entirely reserved for the occupants of the cottage. On the ground floor you will find a large equipped kitchen of about 20 m², as well as direct access to the outdoor spaces. A barbecue is available for your use — charcoal is not provided — as well as an electric plancha. The living room, bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs, accessible via an external staircase. This floor, with an area of approximately 40 sqm, includes: Two bedrooms, each with a double bed A mezzanine with two single beds A living room with a TV An indoor shower room A second outdoor shower room The cottage can thus comfortably accommodate up to six people. It is also possible to add one or two extra mattresses if needed. An adjoining laundry room is accessible when we are away. The electrical meter is located there, especially in the event of a power outage. When we are at the Moulin, we also use this room. The washing machine, dryer and small freezer there are reserved for our personal use. Another washing machine, intended exclusively for guests, is available in the room located in the extension of the kitchen. The TV works via the Internet thanks to the Moulin's fiber connection. There is no traditional TV reception: to watch channels, you will need to use your own computer, connect it to the TV with an HDMI cable, and then connect to an online TV service, such as Molotov. An HDMI cable is normally available in the gite, but we advise you to bring your own as a precaution. Also, remember to install and set up the app of your choice before your stay. We place great importance on the comfort of our visitors and regularly improve the cottage thanks to the comments and suggestions of our guests. All your suggestions are therefore welcome: they allow us to gradually add the small amenities and details that make the stay even more enjoyable. Guest access Free parking on site. No closed garage. No vehicle surveillance but there is no need... Other things to note A stay that respects nature Le Moulin de Verrines is located in the heart of a natural environment that we wish to preserve. Everything is arranged to facilitate waste sorting and recycling. A composter is also available in the vegetable garden for suitable organic waste. After several periods of drought, water has become a particularly valuable resource. We therefore ask that you use it sparingly, especially for showers, dishes, and outdoor use. We also encourage you to take a few simple steps during your stay: turn off the lights when they are not needed, do not leave the exterior lights on all night, and avoid leaving doors or windows open when the radiators are on. These small touches allow us, together, to limit the environmental impact of the Moulin. Countryside life Le Moulin is located in the heart of the countryside, in a secluded, quiet place surrounded by nature. This situation gives it all its charm, but it also means sharing the place with local wildlife and rural activities. You will hear the birds singing and, depending on the season, you may see a tractor pass by during agricultural work or haymaking. Small lizards, shrews, and other wildlife live naturally around the Moulin. Despite all our care, it can happen that one of these little visitors occasionally enters the kitchen or accidentally falls into the pool. A rooster and three hens also live on the property. Like all roosters, ours can crow early in the morning. We prefer to specify this so that people who are particularly sensitive to the natural sounds of the countryside are not surprised. Public trash cans are collected every two weeks. It is therefore possible that they already contain waste at the time of your arrival. This pick-up frequency depends on the local collection service and unfortunately cannot be changed by us. You will probably also meet Martin, the Moulin's cat. Very sociable, he can come and visit you and spend an evening with you if you allow him to. You are, of course, free not to let him enter the cottage. Le Moulin is particularly suitable for people looking for calm, nature, and authenticity. The occasional presence of leaves, a few weeds on the terrace, or small animals is part of life at the place. The Internet connection is provided by fiber optics, but its speed may vary. Mobile phone network coverage, on the other hand, is irregular and may be weak or even non-existent, depending on the operator and the location on the property. If you like natural, peaceful and unspoiled places, Le Moulin should offer you a particularly pleasant stay. We look forward to helping you discover our beautiful region and the Creuse in particular. Depending on the season and the harvests, we may also have the pleasure of offering you some vegetables from our permaculture vegetable garden. However, the vegetable garden remains a private space and is not self-service. Animal welcome Pets are also welcome at the Moulin. We simply ask their owners to ensure that they respect the space and the equipment made available to them. The cleaning fee does not exempt you from leaving the cottage in a reasonably clean condition. In particular, we would appreciate it if you would not allow pets to climb on beds, sofas, or carpets, to prevent them from becoming covered in hair. For hygiene reasons and to protect the filtration system, dogs are not allowed to enter the pool. Their hair can quickly clog the filters and make water maintenance much more difficult. This rule must be strictly observed for the duration of the stay. We have also thought about the comfort of your companions. Several large used towels are available in the room where the washing machine is located. They can be used, for example, to wipe your dog down after a walk or a swim in the river. Please do not use the bath towels reserved for guests for this purpose. Our three dogs and our cat live freely on the property. We do not systematically lock them when guests are staying with their own pets. It is therefore preferable that your pet be used to meeting other animals and that the first interactions take place under your supervision. All three of our dogs are rescues and are affectionate. Dolly, the smallest, however, had a particularly difficult youth before being taken in. Although she is nice, some situations can still cause her to react inappropriately, especially in the presence of children. As a precaution, we ask that you carefully monitor interactions and never leave a young child alone with her. Pool Use and Maintenance During your stay, you are responsible for the use of the pool and for complying with the safety and maintenance instructions. An illustrated manual is available in the kitchen. It simply describes, with the help of photographs, the main operations to be carried out. The equipment room is accessible and contains the robot as well as the products necessary for pool maintenance. The robot is easy to use. However, it is important to regularly clean the filter with a water jet in order to maintain its effectiveness and preserve the equipment. If you have any doubts or difficulties, please don't hesitate to call us. We will guide you and tell you what to do. Voluntarily natural maintenance For over a decade, we have chosen to no longer use pesticides or synthetic plant protection products on the property. This approach helps preserve the biodiversity of the Moulin, but it also means that some parts of the courtyard, garden, or terrace may sometimes have some weeds. These weeds do not reflect a lack of maintenance: they are the result of our choice to limit treatments and respect natural balances as much as possible. Some may also have a withered appearance after a one-time treatment performed without synthetic pesticides. Outdoor furniture and sunshades In order to preserve the outdoor furniture, please remember to close the umbrellas during the night and as soon as the wind picks up, even if it seems moderate to you. We are committed to sharing the Moulin with travelers who appreciate its calm, its natural character and its authenticity. A few simple actions and respect for these guidelines allow everyone to fully enjoy the place while contributing to its preservation.
