Il Piliero, a window over the sea

Il Piliero is a characteristic XIX century spacious house, plunged into a walled garden, and surrounded by the sea, the sky and the green slopes of mount Falerio. The focus of the house is the terrace from where you enjoy an enchanting view. The space Il Piliero is a typical spacious Amalfi Coast house on two floors surrounded by a walled garden; you enter the house through a terrace with a magnificient view of the sea and the steep coast. The house is near the church of Raito, close to the main and only road where you leave your car and go down the stairs that lead to the house. The atmosphere of the house is really special and inspiring, often the guest enjoy just sitting on the terrace watching the immensity of the sea and sky. On the ground floor there is a sitting room, a dining room (both of which open on to the terrace), a kitchen and a bathroom. In the dining room there is a piano that you can play if you wish. On the first floor there are two big rooms and a bathroom. One bedroom has a double bed and the possibility of a folding bed, the other one has two twin beds plus one single bed. There is no air conditioning in the house, but there has never been the need since the rooms are fresh and airy. A fan is anyhow available for the guests, in case of need. - Check the Instagram profile of "Il Piliero" to see more pictures - Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house and they are very welcome to use the garden as well, where they can for example pick fresh lemons. SEASIDE Besides the many possibilities offered by the Amalfi Coast, if you enjoy walking, you can get to the beach on foot (Marina di Vietri and Marina d'Albori). It is a very beautiful walk and not too long (10-15 mins), but please consider the steepness: getting back could be a bit tiring. Otherwise you can reach the two location in a few minutes by car. PARKING You can park your car on the main street in the village free of charge, only a few steps from the house. I recommend you to prefer a small car, as the streets in the village are very narrow and there is not a lot of space for manoeuvre. SHOPPING In Raito you can buy all the essentials from the shops in the village (bar, newspaper agent, chemist, grocery shop ...). In order to have more choice, you may want to go for a stroll in Vietri sul Mare, the nearby village, which is very typical and alive. There you can buy typical local products and ceramics. Vietri has a long tradition of ceramic and you can buy beautiful handmade pieces there. The shops offer a delivery service, so you can send your purchases directly home.
