La Casa di Romano is a farmhouse with a dovecote, typical of the area. Built around 1400, it is made of lime and round stones. It is located in Marcialla, in the heart of Chianti, on a hill where the view can range to 360 degrees, to admire a typical Tuscan landscape, with hills sloping to the horizon, characterized by vineyards, olive trees and cypresses. The location is ideal for visiting the most beautiful places in our region. It is located halfway between Siena and Florence. The space La Loggia is an apartment on the ground floor of the main house, with access from the small loggia on the right side. It consists of kitchen, 2 double bedrooms, one of which overlooks the courtyard of the farmhouse, with private bathroom, (in which you can add a cot, a child bed or a single bed), a bedroom with bunk beds and 1 other bathroom. Outside, the loggia, equipped with table and chairs and deckchairs, allows you to enjoy the splendid panorama of the valley below and enjoy an evocative relaxation. Under the loggia of the main house, there is also the characteristic wood oven, of considerable size, that the peasants used to cook bread for the whole week, also made with the vault in stone. Even today it is perfectly functional, and the roasts cooked inside it have a different flavor from traditional cooking. For guests who wish we can prepare dinners by reservation. The hill on which the house stands, is called "Il sodo", this because the ground on which it was erected, consists of fragmented stones and compressed in such a way, to make it very hard, to the point that the house did not need foundation for its realization. Inside the house there is a cellar, dug into the "hard", which goes down and emerges from the hill below the apartment. Here you can admire the particularity of the terrain conformation. The house has a total of 12/13 beds, divided into three independent apartments, two located in the main body and one outside, obtained from the old shelter for the tractor. It is therefore also perfect for groups of friends, who decide to spend their holidays together, while maintaining their privacy. Guest access Guests have access to the beautiful farmyard and to the loggia of the farmhouse, equipped with built-in barbecue, and to the adjacent, elevated outdoor pool with a diameter of 8.5 m and water depth of 1.20 m.
