A perfect place to relax, recharge and reconnect. The Cabin is tucked away on an animal rescue sanctuary.There are ponds, shade trees, an orchard and flowering plants. The night sky is very dark, the water is sweet, WiFi is fast, a Verizon tower is close, the Cosmic Campground is up the road a bit & the Catwalk Recreational Trail is 4.5 miles from here. Indulge in the quiet, walk the Labyrinth, lounge in a hammock, visit the animals. Galleries, Art, Curiosities, Shrines & Sculptures are abundant The space Located just 4.5 miles from the Catwalk Recreational Trail. The studio floor plan in the Cabin, houses an ornate four-poster queen bed, shower, commode, sink, a free-standing closet, laptop-friendly expandable table, chairs, an eclectic library (including many regional books), reading lights, ceiling fan, seasonal air conditioner and heater. Comforter, heated mattress cover, bath products, snacks, coffee and coffee makers are included. This enchantingly rustic and historic Cabin was once a bunkhouse. Legend has it that "Billy The Kid" slept here. (After all, his stepdad William Antrim owned the house next door.) After much work and care, the Cabin is a medley of visual delights; every detail (indoors and outdoors) is the art and passion of your host. I am happy to give a tour of my property; all you need to do is ask. It will include a visit to Suzy’s Shrine-the Guinness World Record Holder: Oldest Donkey Ever! You will meet the resident animals: Beatrice the gorgeous Goose, a mini donkey, the giant Koi fish, 2 mini horses, an ancient 44 year old horse named Hush and more. The Cabin is only 12 miles from the First Dark Sky Sanctuary (Cosmic Campground) and 4.5 miles from the Catwalk National Recreational Trail. ANIMALS: In consideration of those with allergies, my cats and dogs never go into the Cabin. For the safety of my animal family, I have a NO PET and NO Service Animal Policy. OTHER INFORMATION: No poisons or pesticides are used on my property. There are 9 equine who live here with me. Plus, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 9 chickens, a goose, an African Grey Parrot and lots of wildlife. My property borders the Gila National Forest. The Cabin is located behind my home and there is a field next to it. Cows are sometimes in that field. Guest access PROPERTY: Guests have access to the many places to sit and enjoy watching the birds, deer and resident animal family. Sit by the Koi ponds and admire the lilies and lotus blossoms while listening to the waterfall. Enjoy the shade of the porch, the flower and vegetable gardens, walk the Autumnal Labyrinth, or take a snooze in the hammock. GALLERY & GIFT SHOP: Explore the art gallery/gift shop. The walls are adorned with a unique collection of art, crafts, jewelry, home wares, and other unique gifts from near and far. OUTDOORS: Some of the best upper and lower canyon and river hiking in the world is just up the road. Other things to note PROPERTY DETAIL: Behr Farm and Art Gallery can now accommodate 11 adults for retreats and reunions. Accommodations include: The Cozy Cabin, the Carrot Cottage, The Lotus, The Pond Hut, Bad Ass Boudoir and Hummingbird Haven. My property is a small farm/orchard at the end of a tree-lined road and next to Whitewater Creek. This is an animal lover's paradise with the chickens and goose walking around during the day and in their coop at night. The cat will roll onto her back for a scratch and little Ava and her sidekick Zsa Zsa will steal your heart. Cows and horses are generally in the field next to the Cabin. My horses and donkeys are out of their pens most of time during daylight. GATE: The front gate is kept closed for privacy and to keep my animals safe. *There is a restaurant in Alma, the Alma Grill is open daily from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. (closed on Thursdays). The Purple Onion is in Mogollon (seasonal: May - October) open on the weekends: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. They provide wonderful meals. *The Glenwood Tavern is open Thursday - Sunday (evenings), they serve yummy pizza. They have a limited inventory of beer, wine and hard liquor. * There are restaurants and a Grocery Store in Reserve (37 miles North). * One Restaurant in Cliff (30 miles South) * The Alma Grill is open: Friday - Wednesday; hours: 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. The convenience stores close at 7pm and 8 pm.
